Franklin-Christoph 1901 Cherry Creme Fountain Pen LR
The Franklin-Christoph New Model “1901″ celebrates the year the original company was founded, with a classic design featuring the flagship black and crème with white metal. Now also with new Cherry Ice acrylic bands. It differs from the older 1901 pen by being .25″ thinner and has a longer grip section. It’s also slightly longer at 5.66″ versus the old one at 5.55″. The clip is a new rhodium covered flex clip with lasered diamonds, as opposed to the old beryllium spring loaded clip.

The 1901 is a large bold pen, built on the Model 19 frame in classic black acrylic with cherry ice or crème acrylic bands in the cap and barrel and features three quarter turn block threads for easy cap removal and placement. It utilizes the cartridge/converter filling system and accepts the common international sized cartridges.

The 1901 is made from thick acrylic cut from a solid bar of methacrylate. Built to be durable, and guaranteed for life. The 1901 with the steel nib is $195 with the option of an 18k gold nib for $285 and includes free worldwide shipping. Nibs are available in fine, medium, and broad – or in specialty nibs, .9mm Med. Italic, 1.1mm Broad Italic, or 1.1mm STUB. For more about their specialty nibs please visit their Specialty Nib page. You can purchase this pen directly from Franklin-Christoph with a 30 day return policy and a lifetime warranty.

I knew this one was coming, but wow. I love the restraint in design. Very curious if the cherry bands are as interesting in person as the creme.

I am discovering this brand because of this blog. And, I am impressed. They make very nice pens. Unique and chic.

Still kicking myself for not buying a F-C "IPO" fountain pen at the Portland Pen Show a few years ago (the pen was model "01" & discontinued in 2009 :(

Don't get me wrong: the new model "1901" looks very nice, but the all-black "IPO" was very elegant…..

Thanks for this post! I am quickly becoming infatuated with all things Franklin-Christoph. I think that I may "need" this pen.
