If you don’t know, I love black pens, pen with black nibs, and especially pens with black trim. Put some of those feature together with a demonstrator and you’ve got a match made in heaven. Images have turned up, thanks to Iguana Sell, that show a demonstrator based off the Aurora 88 with black hardware. It will feature Aurora’s 18k solid gold nib and only 1888 units will be made. No word on price or release date but I’d expect to pay at least $800 for this.

UPDATE 10/18/11: MSRP is 660€ (about $910) and should be available in the coming weeks April 2012.

UPDATE 3/22: Nibs.com has these for pre order for $760.

    Wow, that is beautiful.

Cool but out of my price range. I have a soft spot for demonstrators.

Sorry, but this one is not for me. I like demonstrators, but the black nib and trim (most of all the nib) really put me off. I really would prefer a black 88 and have some change for a Talentum or something like that.

Now if TWSBI could make something like this and keep it under $80, I would be all over it.

Is the slit supposed to be off-centered? If so, why?

At this price I would hope they wouldn’t do that on accident.

You’d be surprised how often that happens, regardless of the price of the pen.
