American Art Plastics and VintagePens.com (read David Nishimura) have just announced some exciting news. Parker’s Aerometric filler, specifically the sac, for the 51 has an astounding reputation for its durability. But sometimes you’ll run across one that does need to be replaced. This is where David comes in. He has successfully been able to reproduce the clear Aerometric sacs in the original material and to original dimensions, complete with internal ribs!

Also available is the metal breather tube now made from stainless steel instead of the sterling silver originally used by Parker.

This is big news for those looking to restore their vintage pen to as near factory spec as possible.

David also gives his recommendation and warning on using the new sacs in other pens. Be sure to check out Vintage Pens’ website for more details and pricing on both the breather tube and new sac.

*That is fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have three 51s and two of them work beautifully, but the third needs some work. It’s nice to know there would be parts available if necessary :)

This really is outstanding news, but I am a bit disappointed. For some reason I read the title to suggest this joint venture was producing all the parts for the aerometric 51 including hood, cap, barrel, and (in my wildest dreams) nib though the last one would obviously have been steel.

This is great! “Sigh” Yet I wish Parker reproduce 51 again. I do like hooded nibs. “Sigh”
