Curtis Australia is a brand that, I feel, doesn’t get as much recognition as it should. I was thoroughly impressed with their last pen and with my long history with the games of golf I was quite excited to see the second pen in their Jack Nicklaus series.
Like all other Curtis Australia pens the Jack Nicklaus US Open 50th Anniversary fountain pen features a handcrafted sterling silver barrel decoration over polished jet black or red Curtis resin. This Limited Edition fountain pen features a finely sculptured relief inspired by the iconic image of Jack driving at the ’62 US Open, his first of four US Open Championship wins.
With a bronze ‘Golden Bear’ adding a special touch, the sculptured panel is carefully hand finished over many hours. The back panel details Jack’s four US Open wins with the individual Limited Edition number below.
This fountain pen also includes a roller ball grip and refill, allowing the user to easily swap from fountain to roller ball and back again. The fountain pen takes standard international cartridges readily available.
The spring clip, cap collar and Nicklaus relief are all in handcrafted sterling silver. It is limited to 1000 pens and from what I can tell, comes only one nib size. It’s available now for $795. Visit Curtis Australia to order yours.
