We’ve spoke of Diplomat a bit here before and the more I see of their products the more I’d like to give ‘em a try. The only reason I hesitate is because the seem a little expensive for what they are. But, maybe that would change if I could get my hands on one?

Diplomat’s Excellence A line of fountain pens are premium writing instruments of stately presence and generous proportions. They feature a solid metal barrel with either gold plated or polished chrome fittings and a multi-layer lacquer finish. Their nibs are of their one unique design in either monotone steel or duo-tone 14k gold in sizes Fine, Medium, and Broad.

The Excellence line of fountain pens also include a complimentary piston converter and your choice of ink cartridges or bottled ink. The three new styles to the Excellence A line can be seen below. Please visit their website to view their full line of Excellence A fountain pens.

Isn’t it just a Parker Sonnet?

Interesting….. but I have to agree with something Eric said in last week’s FPG radio show (IIRC): the checkerboard design pen would be even more interesting if its section matched the rest of the pen :)
I’ve seen one of the black with gold trim Excellence A pens (I believe the B line is slightly shorter, slimmer and lighter) in person, and it’s a very handsome pen. I don’t own a Diplomat yet, but I’ve heard good things about them on the pen boards. One of those ‘sleeper’ brands??

I wonder what happens when you poke the sleeping pen?
