Omas Arte Italiana ART DECO fountain pen LE2A true homage to the fabulous Thirties, the decade that marked significantly the history of Omas. During this period, Omas small workshop was transformed into a world famous company.

The twelve-sided model Arte Italiana is one of the great success stories of Omas and has become unquestionably a classic in the fine writing instruments field.

The Arte Italiana Art Déco Collection name comes from the design style Art Déco which influenced massively the stylish and expressive choices of the 1930s.

The Arte Italiana Art Déco Collection comes in two versions :

A Certified Edition along with a Limited Edition, both handmade following the Omas ancient tradition.

The Certified Edition, based on the historical model The Paragon, has two rings and the greek fret on the cap and a wheel on the clip. It is made of black, yelllow and red cotton resin. This model was inspired by the corporate image Omas Art Déco of the 1930s. The trim is palladium-plated. To celebrate this new Certified Edition, Omas made a new nib which reminds the historical Omas OM81 nib. The new nib is made of a natural and distintive titanium, polished and embellished with the Omas classical arrowhead engraving. The Certified Edition, based on the historical model The Paragon, is available in piston-filled fountain pen, roller ball and ball point.

OMAS ARTE ITALIANA ART DECO fountain pens

The Limited Edition, available in piston-filled fountain pen only, is the perfect marriage of Omas tradition and modernity. Based on the historical model The Paragon, the Limited Edition is embellished with an uncommon pearl grey cotton resin, along with an elegant and stunning guilloche engraving. This engraving is a classical pattern of the Thirties that has been reproduced on both cap and barrel. These details bestow to the Limited Edition a modern, unique and yet sophisticated style. The Limited Edition is adorned with the historical Omas greek fret on both cap and section, with a precious onyx wheel fitted on the clip. Finishes include a Firenze yellow gold which is a very elegant and light golden hue; the 18kt gold nib (EF, F, M or B) is embellished with a arrowhead Omas engraving.

The number 1931 commemorates the year of creation of the first Arte Italiana model and epitomizes the Arte Italiana Art Déco Collection: 1931 pieces for the Certified Edition, for each model and color, 931 pieces for the Limited Edition.

Update 7/29: These pens should be available in October at an MSRP of $875 for the LE, $435 for the CE fountain pen, $350 for CE rollerball, and $295 for CE ballpoint.

As much as I like Omas and would probably like the Limited Edition when I see it “in person” (the picture really does not convey the impression of a pearl grey colour) there are a few things that trouble me about this edition and Omas in general:
    - I understand that the old-style Paragon is the quintessential Omas pen but I do think this theme has been beaten to death by now. How about some fresh new ideas? And they even have the Ogiva model (that I actually prefer) available already, but please not as mistreated as in the Roma collection.
    - given that not everyone is equally happy with titanium nibs, I wonder if Omas are doing themselves a service with this new Ti-nib, though I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Noooo! not another omas to crave! But I do agree with peter pen in some respects….omas has done MANY “vintage” editions now…could they do something different….or simply discontinue the tanks that replaced the origional paragons, and put the better pen back in their lineup?

I love the pattern on the LE version. Would prefer silver trim, though. Thank goodness!
