Montblanc Alfred Hitchock fountain pen review

Ianmedium, one of our many awesome forum members, posted a review of his Montblanc Alfred Hictchcock LE fountain pen that he received as a gift from one of his clients (I’m clearly in the wrong business!). Not only does he provide some awesome photos, but also delves into what it’s like owning and using such an expensive pen. It’s really a very enjoyable read whether you’re interested in this pen or not and I’m glad to see that Montblanc is sticking to roots of producing real writing instruments instead of just chasing the flash and glamour like some other brands. Here’s a little snippet about the nib from his review:

Now to the good stuff! Quite simply this is the finest writing nib I have experienced to date! It has the ability to combine buttery smoothness with just enough feel to keep things interesting. It has no italic or stub grind, it is indeed.. just a medium nib.. But oh what a medium nib!

I tell you, if all medium nibs wrote as well as this, if they all involved the writer of that nib with the same level of passion and interest as this one does then medium nibs would no longer be a maligned species that they seem to be in fountainpendom!

I had the privilege of seeing this gorgeous writing instrument of Ian’s in person at our pen club meeting last month, and it is as beautiful as it looks in his photos (even more so, actually!)
It *definitely* wound up in the right hands! Congratulations, once again, Ian on your new acquisition; may you enjoy it in good health for many, many years :)
