The 2012 DC SuperShow has come and gone all too fast!

7:00am
Stephen and Eric shun the Executive Lounge along with its inedible scrambled eggs in favor of coffee, tea, bagels and croissants in the lobby. They are joined by Michael Sull who regales them with a concise and captivating history of Spencerian Script.

8:00am
With Stephen in tow, Eric begins the earnest hunt for a Kaweco Sport Safety and/or a Montblanc 146 with Platinum Furniture.

9:00am
Stephen Brown is mesmerized as Michael Sull writes Stephen Brown in Spencerian Script.

1:00pm
Eric and Stephen are joined by Ryan Krusac and Bo Ramos for lunch. Ryan’s pen is popular.

2:00pm
A Geek of the Week video recording is shot.

3:00pm
Stephen Brown leads Bo Ramos to the Anderson Pens table. Bo Ramos proudly purchases his third and fourth TWSBI 540′s. Elation ensues. The crowd goes wild. Bo now has all colors.

3:30pm
Eric’s search widens to include any German safety and/or any Montblanc 146.

4:00pm
Stephen attempts to convince Eric to purchase a Delta MOMO. Stephen fails.

4:30pm
Eric’s search widens to include anything with a nib.

Is that a ballpoint in Stephen’s haul?

    • StephenBrown

      Yup, but it was a gift! I wouldn’t buy a ballpoint :-) .

  • ianmedium

Ding dong merrily on high doc brown has a 51! Is it perchance a Mr Minuskin special? It has been great living vicariously through you both with this show. I am looking forward to the live action videos now!
Oh, by the way. With the DJ’s I could not help but feel I was watching Dean and Frank at the Sands, Two more and it would have been the Rat Pack!

    • Maja

Ian, I believe Doc Brown’s Parker 51 is “an aerometric filling Cordovan Brown with a 1.3mm Minuskin Stub” (this is according to the FPGeeks article “2012 DC SuperShow: The Saturday Report”–all the details are there :) . Had to laugh at the Rat Pack joke—good one!

  • Jeff

Looks like Doc Brown has bagged his next series of video footage!

      Zackly!

  • Maja

That yellow fountain pen of Eric’s doesn’t look like the Lamy 2000 Stainless Steel….What is it, exactly?
    Nice pen show loot, guys!

    • Breck Breckenridge

Maja, I’d like to know too what that yellow job is. It’s like a Yellow Submarine!

      • Maja

Mystery solved! It’s an Akkerman Deluxe fountain pen, which Eric got from Stephen as a gift (I learned this after watching the FPGeeks Radio video today). Stephen did a YouTube review of the red version of this pen model back on March 28, 2012 (which I totally forgot about). Cool-looking pen!

Stephen, I like how you like shopping! But, is the blue pen to the right a ballpoint? Say it ain’t so!

    • http://fpgeeks.com/ Dan Smith

Don’t worry, it’s purely for self defense. Using a fountain pen could damage the tines so he always carries a sacrificial ballpoint. ;-)

      • StephenBrown

Indeed – that is the case! Also, I’ve already given the ballpoint to someone else ;-) .

    2:00pm

A Geek of the Week video recording is shot.

Was I the only to catch this? How is everyone not going crazy over this???

    • Maja

Ok….YAY!!!!! Looking forward to seeing a new GotW feature. It’s been a long time coming but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait. Have a safe trip back home, Eric and Stephen!

  • Las Plumas

Great job, love the video walk through!
You guy’s are “the Bomb”, as my kids would say.

  • Dgator

Nice touch with the “Benny Hill” show music on the video. Thanks again for the pen show coverage for all who couldn’t attend in person.

    • Maja

+1 (and yes, “Yakety Sax” is a classic :)
      I think I need a Gravol after watching the walk-through, though…

  • ziggymac

after seeing that video, im going to make an effort to go next year

  • Breck Breckenridge

Stephen obviously has alot of discretionary spending money! And this was on top of the air fare there from The Netherlands!! [and the hotel, food, etc.]

  • Michel de Montreal

Nice stylus pen, Stephen… it’s funny cuz I was just given that this weekend for my birthday :) with a stub nib…. looks like you’ve found some sweet pens :)

What an Incredible show!! I hatet to have missed it :(

  • Brian Gray

    That’s awesome! Thanks for posting!

  • Alan

Thanks for the video! As a psychologist, I have always been interested in the effects of LSD, but never been able to explore my intrigue ethically. The speed of the video was like a ‘trip’, I’m sure. I’d like to see the original version so I may enjoy the sights of the super show.
