Montegrappa is pleased to introduce the new Twelve Tribes of Israel that was developed exclusively for their Russian distributor, Gourji. To create the pen, the designers have hand painted their inspiration, drawn from a mosaic in one of the Jerusalem synagogues. It features the symbolic images of the progenitors of twelve Israelite tribes.
Placed in the centre of the silver band in the middle of the barrel, is the star of David, the Magen David or Shield of David, an ancient emblem in the form of a six-pointed star, that, as the legend goes, used to adorn the shields of King David’s warriors. The 18K gold nib is embellished with the image of menorah, a seven-branched candelabrum, one of the most important emblems of Judaism. The box reproduces a fragment of the wall mosaic from Givat Mordechai synagogue in Jerusalem depicting the twelve Tribes of Israel.
These pens are available in North America on a very limited, first come first serve basis and will be done exclusively in Hebrew, as opposed to Russian & Hebrew for Gourji’s market. The MSRP of the Montegrappa Twelve Tribes of Israel fountain pen is $6750, and $6000 for the rollerball. These very limited pieces will be delivered in late September/early October.
