Now available from Andy’s Pens is the Jumbo Varuna Gajendra fountain pen in a choice of four Ripple Ebonite colors: brown, burgundy , green, and olive. The Gajendra is a truly oversized pen, but at the same time, is not too heavy, and very comfortable to use. The long cap does not post, but then this pen is plenty long enough so that posting is not necessary.

It is a very simple design with a domed cap, and without a pocket clip – a truly vintage inspired design! The flush fit of the cap gives this pen the look of a huge Havanna cigar when in place. The Gajendra has a truly cavernous ink capacity – around 6ml! Each pen is supplied with a complimentary “Eyedropper Kit” consisting of a 3ml graduated pipette for filling, an instruction card, and a small pot of silicone grease for the barrel threads.

Andy’s Pens now offers the full range of Varuna fountain pens with a superior quality iridium-tipped German nib in fine, medium or broad widths. The German nibs are a screw-in unit that fits inside a custom ebonite Varuna section. It allows unparalleled flexibility in that the pen can be used with standard “international” sized ink cartridges, a standard ink converter (included), or if you still prefer the eyedropper’s huge ink capacity, you can remove both cartridge and converter and use it as an eyedropper.

The Varuan Gajendra fountain pen measures 181mm when capped and 145mm uncapped with a diameter of 19mm. Since it’s made from ebonite this large pen only weighs in around 44 grams. The Gajendra sells for £50 (~$78) or £71 (~$111) with the upgraded German nib and as far as I can tell, these new ripple colors are not available from any US retailers.
