Each Charcoal Marble fountain pen has its own engraved serial number, comes with an 18k white rhodium-plated gold nib and is presented in a black leatherette case.

The 2012 LE Pilot Vanishing Point is expected to be released in September at an MSRP of $240

Thanks to Mr. Chang for the tip!

We are not supposed to share anything on this until sometime tomorrow, but I believe it’s rhodium-plated 18K, not white gold. I could be wrong, but I haven’t seen any info yet to indicate that it would be different than the current nibs.

That same detail caught my eye. My gut feeling is that you are correct, but if it is indeed a different gold alloy that would be quite interesting…

I thought it was a little odd but the info came from a major retailer who should know the difference.

I guess we’ll find out tomorrow once Pilot USA does their official press release to all their retailers! :)

    How many VPs is “enough”?

Mine arrived today. Less charcoal than deep brown. Very smooth colouring but not as nice as I’d hoped. It sort of ends up as a wanna-be celluloid. Think my purple and orange can relax – no need to be too jealous!
