This is hilarious. The Doc is a good sport and has a wonderful sense of humor. Of course, we all learned new words, right?

    • Stephen Brown

      Thanks, glad you like it!

  • Keith E Bartlett

Stephen, you are completely bonkers but brilliant.

    • Stephen Brown

Thank you ;-) . This was Eric’s idea, I just executed it!

  • Maartje

I’m Dutch, and even I learned some things! Had never thought about what a barrel and a section might be called in my own language.

Curse you subjects I can only talk about properly in English!

    • Stephen Brown

Well, I actually had to sit down and think about some of these terms! Isn’t it funny how we can talk about these things in English, but now in our own language? Must be a byproduct of the internet age :-) .

      • Breck

English is endangering the whole World!

  • Joost Plattèl

@stephan ben van mijn stoel gerold van het lachen / you are so funny

I guess the fountain pen world has rooking hazing too. And did Eric suggest you dress up like Mother Goose?
    ;-D
No, quite funny and interesting. Thanks.

    • Stephen Brown

      You’re welcome :-) . I thought the deerstalker cap would add a prefessorial look ;-) .

      • Breck

        What would Holmes do?

  • Mary Burke

Featuring our Conway Stewart Model 100, Professor Tarquin Danglebury interestingly translates the fountain pen parts from English into the Dutch language.
Fun to watch and useful if you wish to travel to Holland!

    • Stephen Brown

And I really enjoy that pen, too :-) !

  • Maja

    Clip…clip…Clip…clip…Clip…clip.
    LOL!!
Love the accent and the whole idea of the FPGeeks Language Academy. Well done :)

    • Stephen Brown

Glad you like it :-) .

  • The Ruffled Quill

    Great sport Stephen

  • ethernautrix

Okay! Got it! Put the inkt in the convertert for fullpen to workt. Wait, clip or clip? The difference is subtle, and I want to make sure I’m understood the next time I’m in Amsterdam.
I recall (years ago) asking in French papeteries, “avez-vous un plume refill?” and waving my Pentel Ceramicron at the clerk.
Hilarious language lesson, Doctor…Tarquin Danglebury? (Ha ha ha! Great!) In the USA, a punt usually means it’s fourth down and greater than ten.

    • Stephen Brown

See, your experience in France demonstrates the utility of the FPGeeks Language Academy :-) .

Funny how the University of Cambridge looks a lot like Stephen’s room…

    • Stephen Brown

All smart people’s rooms look like that :-P .
