    Oppa Gangnam Style!!! OMG :)

Anyway, I was in Amsterdam for a weekend on July and I tried to find Akkerman’s Shop a whole afternoon. And a big disappointment: I was told that, they closed their shop in Kalverstraat (not sure if I spelled it correctly) I will be in Amsterdam again in October and I will try again. Hope this time, I can get some Akkerman inks.

Frank van Krieken is right: only the The Hague branch of this shop sells the inks. You cannot get them in Amsterdam! In fact, I think the two shops don’t even consider themselves different branches of the same shop…

  • Frank van Krieken

    the Amsterdam shop moved to
Langebrugsteeg 13 1012GB Amsterdam, which is not far from the previous address, but they don’t sell these inks, you’ll have to get those in Den Haag / The Hague

I wonder if the creator has any idea how successful he would be if he started selling these inks online. Even of he decided to do so wholesale through a supplier like the Goulet’s.

This video is like a gift to me. I was looking for an interesting red, because I use it almost daily for my work. I often write down the pathological test values in red to make them stand out immediately when someone is looking at the document, and the Quink red I’m using is just boring, too bright, almost vulgar. Most of other reds are too fancy to use on official documents.
I love the tone of this red. It can be used on official papers because it looks great, yet it is still red. The lack of shading in this case is actually an advantage, since it would really look weird on official paper. Water resistance is not a big problem, since water should not be poured on the docs anyways :) So it would seem the perfect red for me.
The bottle: These guys know what they’re doing. This is probably the best ink bottle I’ve seen. Period.
The big problem: How on earth do I get one?! Stephen, I need your help on this one. I plan on getting 3 different colours, if I find a way to do that.
Thanks for uploading this, I am really excited for this red and I can’t wait to see more of their inks in the future :)

So these can be bought from pw-akkerman.nl. If you need help with Dutch or anything, you know where to find me, my friend!

or do a review on the ghost invisible inks of noodler’s

it’s a beautiful red. wish we could get it in the States. Is it difficult to clean and does it stain converters, etc…

    • Stephen Brown

It’s a little tenacious, being a red, but it’s not that difficult to clean. I haven’t seen it stain anything permanently.

Have you tried out the akkerman orange colored ink. I am thinking of getting one just for the bottle and being of dutch heritage the orange one makes the most since.

Just ordered five bottles. Also if you’re shipping to outside of Europe you don’t have to pay VAT so the price drops to 13.64 euros per bottle. For five bottles, shipping to Toronto came to 30 euros. Also you don’t need to speak Dutch to order. Once you add to shopping cart everything else is English. Lets all buy some ink!

  • Breck

Well the cost of the ink on-line is Euros 13.64 which sounds just fine, but the shipping charge to the USA is Euros 20! So it is not a viable option for me.

I love the colour of this ink, and of course the ink bottle is fantastic, absolutely love it.
