Visconti REMBRANDT-ORANGE fountain penThe Visconti Rembrandt fountain pen is a wonderful tribute to Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, considered one of the greatest masters of Baroque painting and printmaking, surely being the most important artist in the history of the Netherlands. His contribution to painting matches what historians have called the Dutch Golden Age and peak of culture, science, commerce, power and political influence.

The biggest news of the Rembrandt collection is surely its magnetic closure designed to avoid a “false lock”.

The painting technique, “chiaroscuro” inspired Visconti to use a resin with different shades ranging from dark orange to bright jewel tones.

The collection can be personalized using the well-known Visconti My Pen System – with the instant application of the initials, the zodiac sign or the semi-precious stone preferred by the fortunate future owner of a Visconti pen.

Visconti REMBRANDT-ORANGE fountain pen

The Visconti Orange Rembrandt measures 159mm in length and 12.7mm in diameter. It fills via the cartridge/converter method and will available with a steel nib in F,M, and B sizes this month for approximately $130.

In addition to the fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint, there is also a Limited Edition Calligraphy Set available. This special set consists of a fountain pen with medium-fine nib or rollergraphic front piece, an extra-fine, highly elastic nib for English Script, a firm, square 1.5 mm nib for Italic or Gothic Script, an inkwell, a set of plastified blotting paper to clean your nibs without getting your fingers dirty and two magnetic stands to hold the nibs between one exercise and the next. More information can be found at La Couronne du Comte.

Rembrant Visconti is a beautiful fountain pen!

Beautiful pen to look at but do not care for the round top on the cap.

I have a Visconti Rembrandt in red. One of my favorites, a very nice and very pretty pen indeed. This Orange is also pretty nice. I loved it.

  • Newjelan

Wow! I love this colour. I already have the Rembrandt Blue Calligraphy set, a Purple Rembrandt and a Van Gogh Maxi in Brown. Now I want this – orange is my favourite colour. Oh dear!

  • Maja

Odd coincidence—I just saw a Rembrandt from the calligraphy set at our pen club meeting three days ago! I love the colour orange but I already own a vanilla (ivory) Rembrandt which I like using very much. Also, I’m not sure if the orange is as dark a shade in real life as it is on my monitor. Stephen—you said you bought one of these, so I look forward to your YouTube review of it :)

Love the colour, but I have to see if it’s as dark in real life as it is on my monitor….I already have an ivory (vanilla?) Rembrandt that I love using :)

Sorry for the quasi-double-post; I posted a comment but when I went back to check something, I didn’t see it and then posted a second comment!

Had uniformly horrifying experiences with all of the Visconti products purchased by myself, other than their rollerballs, which make a nifty corporate gift.
The Opera illlustrator bled ink through the body, destroying a shirt and a pair of pants.
The perfect dimensions fountain pen, despite multiple attempts to work with the nib.
Not any good as pens, but pretty.
