Known in fountain pen forums as fountainpenkid, William Platt lives in Connecticut. At 15 years of age, Will is a sophomore in high school and very much a card-carrying Fountain Pen Geek!

In his own words:

These five pens are my entire collection. I carry three to school, but I use the other two every day. I do not use a ballpoint pen, ever.

I’m not the only kid at my school who uses fountain pens. A friend of mine got a Cross ATX after he saw me using my M400. He uses that and a Franklin Covey fountain pen.

My Grail Pen would be a Pelikan 400 in Mother of Pearl OR a Conklin Nozac in Herringbone OR an OMAS Lucens OR…

Oh yeah… that’s a Fountain Pen Geek!

I think that one of those pens is worth about 200 more points than is advertised!

I love this Daily Carry! For only 5 pens, it’s a stunning collection. Those vintage 88′s are amazing (what the Parker 51 should have been) and Vacumatics are so much fun to hunt. Well done, Will!

The lot manager was being a major jerk and made Deb park her freshly washed car right next to some birds.

  • Brian Anderson

A lot of nice standard pens in that lot!

  • http://www.facebook.com/fredpitts Fredric Pitts

He quickly learned that he had made a major error by not sticking to his standard line.

  • Chris Seggerman

I think one of those pens stands alone, like a lonely sentinel, never cresting the golden wave.

    Watchman Deluxe.

Will! That white tortoise is beautiful! Are you careful what kind of ink you use? Any fear of staining or is it pretty robust?

    • http://twitter.com/JustDaveyB David Brennan

That is a good question. I am think of filling my M600 version with a syringe and then screwing the nib in to avoid any chance staining the section.

      • http://fpgeeks.com/ Dan Smith

David, I heard that nib in your M600 is pretty wild?

I used Diamine Ancient copper, but now it is filled with Edelstein mandarin. Beautiful!

  • anaximander

    Kid’s got taste.

  • RagingDragon

Is one of those pens impersonating a superior officer?

  • Maja

Wow, another 15-year-old FPGeek with excellent taste in fountain pens!! (what is it about that age? LOL) Thanks for sharing your Daily Carry with us, Will!

If’n you’re only gonna have five in the collection, it’d be hard to argue with any of those choices. Good work, Will.

  • Penfancy

    Excellent daily carry!
