From Steve:
He asked about the Japanese paper I keep speaking so highly of and I’ll provide the link in the show notes for everyone else. – Tomoe River Paper

He says: “I look forward each Tuesday to listening at lunch. No meetings, no deadlines, just a full hour of listening to the podcast and browsing pen sites w/ my iPad. I hope to meet all of you in February at the show. I have attended the LA show since 1999. That year my dad won the grand prize drawing. A Delta Venezia!! A month later, 22 guys chipped in $50 each and we bought a Montegrappa Queen of Hearts. That was the prize for the March Madness Brackets pool. My dad won the pool. 2 great pens in 2 months. He gave them to me and I cherish them. Thought you guys would love the story.

Recent Acquisitions:
Stephen: Waterman 52V ring-top restoration project, Kaweco Lilliput black
Dan: Pilot Custom Heritage 92 purchased ebay seller engeika

Will Eric be joining this time? I’m starting to wonder whether there’s really been a coup at FPG Towers…

    • Manutius

I miss Eric, he’s the Craig Revel Horwood of fountain pen judging

        A-may-zing!

  • Manutius

would be great to always mention the broadcast in CET (Stephen’s time), you have a global audience :)

    • http://fpgeeks.com/ Dan Smith

Google should be able to help you convert the time to your respective time zone.

      • Manutius

Yes of course it’s easy to find out the time online or with an app. It’s a lot of fun to tune in live and maybe more people would join if the european time was also posted in the announcements, it also looks swish :) I sometimes watch live concerts online and they post the showtimes for Berlin, Tokyo, NYC and LA. I guess it depends on their specific audience etc.

Since i’m stuck in china I’ll actually be awake for this! Does everybody hang out in comments or is there some kind of google hangout link?

If there is time on/off air for any advice on what I can use to stick the inner cap back into my Jinhao x450 that would be very helpful. Failing that, a minutes silence for this pen :-(

Any chance of a Dan vs Stephen hat shootout?

    • http://fpgeeks.com/ Dan Smith

We might be able to make something happen. ;-)

      • http://jamesbmorley.zapd.net/ James Morley

I take my hat off to you both :-D

Stephen have you seen that there’s a new Italix pen out on MrPen.co.uk?

  • Tamara

As usual, a great show. I only wish I could remember that it’s moved to Saturday mornings :)

Private Reserve Sepia is a very nice ink, with good shading.. though it leans to the warm side of the color wheel, not the cool that your preferred in the podcast.
