Taccia introduces the Tanto Limited Edition Collection, in honor of the Samurai in Japanese history – men of royalty, dignity, righteousness, diligence, sense of justice and responsibility.

The “Tanto” was a classic short sword in Japan, mostly used by samurai as a weapon of self-defense . Men, women, and sometimes children carried the Tanto for self-defence.

Because of the Tanto’s personal nature, it is now widely respected and regarded as a charm to protect one’s house from evil and to bring prosperity to the home.

The Taccia Tanto Collection™ builds on this reputation with a stunning fountain pen, crafted in homage to this legendary era of Japanese history – designed for the cultured writer.

Hand-polished from an ebonite barrel, the Taccia Tanto is then sealed with fine Japanese urushi lacquer, and fitted with a sting ray leather cap, sterling silver sword pin ornament, and Japanese 14-karat gold with rhodium two tone nib, the Taccia Tanto is our finest homage to the power of the written word.

Available in Crimson Red and Moonlit Black, the Taccia Tanto™ is limited to 100 fountain pens worldwide, 65 in Crimson Red, 35 in Moonlit Black and currently on sale at a MSRP of  $1,595, street price of $1,116.50

Holy cow that is a BIG step down to the section. Looks very uncomfortable. I do have to admit the thumbnail made the red version look like a light saber to me. :D

Massive step, much? Looks ideal for a collector, not so much for a user.
