Montegrappa Fortuna Skull fountain pen and rollerballShow your renegade style with the new Fortuna Skull limited edition from Montegrappa!

An age-old symbol that brings to mind pirates, rock n’roll and devilish deeds, the skull is mystical and seductive. The pens are adorned with skulls around the barrel and a large skull engraving on the cap with a glinting Swarovski crystal “tooth”. The robust, Italian-made pens have a black resin body fitted with gunmetal accents including the wide central band bearing Montegrappa’s logo and clip with a rotating metal wheel. The Fortuna Skull pens are a limited and numbered edition of 888 fountain pens, rollerball and twist ball pens. The cartridge/converter filling fountain pen is equipped with a gunmetal-plated, polished steel nib available in F, M, or B widths.

The Montegrappa Fortuna Skull is expected to be released in October at a MSRP of $625, a $380 premium over the standard edition Fortuna!

  • SUBSTANTIALLY DISGRUNTLED

I BLAME STALLONE FOR THIS. GOOD LORD, I’D PREFER A RED PEN BLANKETED WITH MINIATURE INCARNATIONS OF THE KOOL-AID MAN ON THE BARREL AND A COMIC SANS “OH YEAH!” ON THE CAP.

    • Maja

      LOL!

    • A.J. Rosati

I love the Kool-Aid man, who doesn’t. That would be a better pen.

“The skull is mystical and seductive”? Who writes that crap? $625 for a undistinguished pen with a steel nib. Hmm… let me think about that. Okay. Done thinking. No thanks.

“The skull is mystical and seductive”? Who writes that crap?

A bored employee in the marketing department about to lose his job if sales don’t pick up?

If it was a $20 school pen it would be cool for kids. At anything over that price it is just embarrassing.

They may fare better if they limit production to 666 pens.

Wait for the Chinese copy coming soon to an eBay site near you. Personally, I’ll wait for the Darth Vader version. :p

I’ll wait for the Chinese version of the Darth Vader version.

  • Will Platt

That is quite pricey for what it is…I couldn’t imagine paying more than $80 for that at most!

  • sharkync

Maybe they should change the fourth consonant to a “c”.

  • Tony Rex

PEOPLE. This is no laughing matter! Wait, yet it is.

  • Leon

    Fascinating design!
I’ll give you five bucks for it…

Hmmmm…another Montegrappa loser, I guess. I’d rather have a Miya. Oh wait, I do have a Miya!

  • Andreas Berg

Montegrappa’s latest attempt to corner the market with stupid looking and really expensive pens.

  • A.J. Rosati

I’m honestly not sure where or when this pen would be wanted lol. I feel like the skulls may not belong on a fountain pen lol.

  • Michel_de_Montreal

    First Batman, now The punisher?

Will they come up with the First Green fountain pen nib, on the Green Lantern pen?

  • Vincenzo

$625? Honestly, you’d have to PAY ME $625 to even think about using that pen. As for the comments below about people faking this pen, the Chinese fakers have to much class to fake such a thing. If Montegrappa keeps producing pens that look like this, they will go belly up pretty soon. Don’t the folks at Montegrappa have the sense to think that one who makes enough money to afford this would want something a bit classier? For $625, at least make the nib out of gold. Defiantly an epic design fail.

Maybe Nikki Sixx would like this pen, and I guess he does not miss few extra money for this, I personally like it a lot, if it was less expensive I would buy one, it’s pretty rock and ironic too, IMO

  • Andrea Kirkby

Ugh. Don’t like it at all.

Though if someone could find a way to impress a tiny little skull and crossbones print on an unassuming BHR pen, that would be fun – you could watch people trying to identify your early Waterman, or maybe a Swan, and then realising what the pattern actually is!
