Does anyone have the same problem with their podcast feed. I haven't got any new episode since March 25, i.e., since episode #65. What has changed?
It was a red Pelikano school pen that I got in primary (i.e., elementary) school. We were taught cursive writing and fountain pens were obligatory. That was almost forty years ago and the pen has...
If I recall correctly, Pendleton Brown does awesome nib modifications on TWSBI nibs. This includes a flex-mod. You may want to have a look at his work.
TWSBIs (ROC, 540, 580, mini, Vac 700, Micarta), Pilot (Prera, VP, 78G), Sailor Sapporo, Platinum #3776 (with Music nib), Varuna Bamboo, some Hero's,... I guess that's it.
This is subject to change of course, but for now this is my list of awesome:
1.) Montegrappa Espressione in blue with 18ct gold nib; pure awesomeness!
2.) Edison Hudson black with M stainless...
You may want to add some water to the ink to dissolve the access dye (that's what the precipitate is). I suggest distilled water (from the drug store?) to avoid any contamination (mould etc.). If you...
Thank you so much jar. Great article(s) you wrote on FPN.
Thanks for this information.
I read it as a Richemont era pen. That seems to tie in with my estimated year of production in the early 2000s if I understand things correctly. Is that when...
My thoughts precisely! Not only is this a tastefully and well designed pen from Montegrappa it's manufature is flawless as far as I can tell. Even has a signed quality control certificate from the...
Patience my young padawan! Patience. ;)
I thought I might share this little story of a great find with all my fellow pen brothers and sisters here in the FPG forum: Another year, another purchase from "the drawer". Back home on holiday I...
Oh yes, in the world famous town of Inkewick I guess, where they discovered the first ever ink well (why do you think its called a FOUNTAINpen) underneath a farmer's field, didn't they.
Delighted...
Yes, meteorology. I am a climate scientist.
But now that I heard about researching biscuits I wonder if I should "broaden my field of expertise". That sounds like a fascinating subject... :)
The weather... ;)
Hmm, researching biscuits... That's a thought, though.
hear hear!
I am sorry to say that both the Professor and Eric are correct in disputing the existence of French fries as a prove for the existence of France, most importantly because French fries do actually...
Well, it arrived on time and I have been playing around with my new Edison Hudson since yesterday. And here it is:

Just a quick shot with my phone. I understand now why everyone is so full...
So, my little hint was not obvious enough then, eh? Well, let me put it that way: I research what occupies the British citizen by far the most, day in and day out; only I am more interested in the...
Oh, quite simply my job. I am a scientist and there is an internationally renowned institution that is located in Exeter. That's why I'm here.
Okay, I promise NOT to participate in this month's write-in to increase your chance of winning! My birthday gift to you, snedows. :-)
Yes, I am completely with you on that. I have half a dozen or so Parker 45s that I found on eBay. All of them have super smooth 14ct gold nibs. They can be fully dismantled and are thus very easy to...
My pens are predominantly black, I am a sucker for classic understated elegance (AKA shear boredom). But I like it that way.
Here's another edge-case: I live in the UK but am a citizen of another country (Austria). Do I count in your fountain pen census? :-)
Just for the sake of completeness, I am in the West Country, in...
I am waiting for my first ever Edison pen to arrive sometime this week (hopefully). Its a Hudson in black with an F-sized steel nib. I ordered it from The Writing Desk in the UK who are the closest...
