Saw a thread on FPN and I decided to try it on my 78g. I am really liking the effect of strategic matte and shiny black portions of the pen. No real good light except my desk lamp but I wanted to zoom in on the "brushed" finish.

Neato!
How did you deal with the problem of the cap rings being painted on (and thus easy to accidentally remove)?
Very nice!

The shiny black accentuates the sanded matt parts really well. The texture is looks similar to the Lamy2000.
I did something like that to a cheap plastic mech pencil last year.

very, very nice Ivan.

Thank you. Will practice on cheap plastic first -- maybe a gel pen haha.
2000 grit? i thought that is a polishing grit?
If you use it dry, it is rough enough to remove the shine and leave the "brush" marks, as you can see.

You do some really kewl stuff, and this is no exception!
Is the pen black? Looks teal in the second shot.
My other pen is a Montblanc.
