What Inks Have You Acquired Recently?

Just tried the Lamy Dark Lilac in cartridges. No where near earthdawn's colours above but I'm still pretty happy with it.

A quick edit: the dark lilac is indeed now the colour it should be! Don't know why the ink came out the cartridges so light to start with but now I really do like this ink, a lot.

Came home to find a package from Anderson Pens in the mailbox

For about $1.50 or so per bottle it's a great way, I hope, to see if a particular ink will do it for me.

Rohrer & Klingner Alt-Goldgrun.

Will be great fun to, for the first time, break away from solid black....

Got a sample of KWZ Brown Pink and KWZ Honey.

I like Brown Pink, but LOVE Honey, esp. on Tomoe River Paper. Gorgeous.

Purchased a bottle of Lamy Dark Lilac and a bottle of Mont Blanc permanent black (for sketching duties).

My most recent inks are due to arrive tomorrow. Diamine Green/Black, Diamine Chocolate Brown and Lamy Dark Lilac. I've tried a sample of the Green/black. Didn't like it initially but it is a nice dark green that is good as a business ink. Chocolate Brown was the winner of my "find the right brown" contest. This is the closest to what I was looking for, deep, dark, rich, brown looking brown. Lamy Dark Lilac, I haven't had a chance to try. Figured I better snag a bottle first, before it all disappeared again, and find out later if I like it. Don't like to buy inks this way, but this is a special case. I have Diamine Imperial Purple which I currently fills my favorite purple niche. The pen coming with the order is a TWSBI Eco. I know what ink is going in that baby first.

Not an ink exactly. A wooden Kobe Nagasawa ink bottle holder, in a beautiful lacquer finish. Cleverly designed with an adjustable insert, to hold a Sailor bottle at exactly the right angle to facilitate filling.

I use Lamy DL from the bottle in one of my Lamy 2000's with a wet medium nib, and boy is it glorious: shades pretty good, has quite a bit of lustrous sheen on Tomoe River and glows like you'd never expect from such a dark ink. A rather warm purple, too. Shure beats Sailor's "Shigure" for me!

I wasn't going to buy any more, but I talked myself into a bottle of Akkerman #5, Shocking Blue. It arrived a few days ago, but I haven't used any yet. I'm waiting until I empty one of my currently filled pens. Haven't decided what to put it in. I'm thinking my Montblanc Noblesse, but then I have haven't used a number of my really vintage pens for a while. So many choices.

I believe that Chrissy is refering to a mix made by a FPN member. If it is then it should be dcwaite's formula for Faux Penman Sapphire #9:
Diamine Majestic Blue ..... 4 Parts
Diamine Sapphire Blue .... 3 Parts
Water ............................... 8 Parts

I didn't put anywhere near to that amount of water in when I tried it.
