Default Vintage and Modern for Sale/Trade: Nighthawk, Ellipse, Elite, BCHR, Skylines, PTL10K

Large versions of these images (2048 pixels on the widest side) can be seen here : http://imgur.com/a/X8hOe
If you want a closer shot at something, just let me know, I am capable of taking 1:1 Lifesize macros if you want to have an intimate date with a nib tipping shot or something like that.

    Shipping Cost/Options
Prices do not include shipping, within the USA I can ship Insured (for the full value of the purchase, not just the included $50 insurance) Priority Mail for $7. For other locations or other options, contact me.

Unbranded BCHR (Black Chased Hard Rubber) Lever-Filling Pen w/ 14K ~M flex-ish nib
    $40 or Trade/Offer

Looks identical to a Moore L92, minus the branding, restored and re-blackened roughly 6-7 months ago by a Write On Time Restoration. Nib is a Warranted 14K untipped nib which is roughly western fine to medium on down strokes, and closer to western fine on cross strokes, has some spring/flex to it. See second post for a recent Oxblood write sample.

Monteverde Invincia Deluxe Nighthawk, Steel Franklin-Christoph #6 Masuyama Needlepoint Grind, Box+Converter
    **SOLD** $100 or Trade/Offer **SOLD**

This is first version with wider carbon fiber weaves an minimal MV branding, purchased new roughly in March of 2014, has been brassing and losing the black paint finish gradually since a month after that. Currently fitted with a Franklin-Christoph #6 Masuyama needlepoint grind, but can be fitted with a 2-tone Bexley Fine that I have instead. Includes the original box and converter.

Parker 45 CT Navy Gray Fountain Pen (inc. Converter) and Ballpoint set. 14K Springy Fine Nib and Modern Black Quinkflow BP Refill
    **SOLD** $60 or Trade/Offer **SOLD**

14K Fine nib has some spring to it. Purchased in the wild which appeared to be never inked before I got my hands on it. The 14K nib was not original to the pen, it originally had a steel medium. Worked wonderfully with Noodler's Liberty's Elysium without drying out. The ballpoint pen originally had a blue quinkflow refill, I've replaced it with a newer black quinkflow ballpoint refill. The FP has a slim parker squeeze/aerometric converter installed.

Parker Ellipse in Blue with a 18K Fine nib
$150 (Would prefer a trade to something similar in resin/celluloid)

Made from around 2001-2002, has some light marks on the glossy coat, a small ding on two sides of the barrel (directly across from each other so I'm thinking originally it may have been pinched such as in a drawer once upon a time), not very obvious, some small scratches which you can see in the picture. Does not come with a converter but I can provide an empty parker cartridge, or a black parker cartridge. The 18K Fine is very smooth and has a small amount of spring to it.

Moore 94A in green striations and 14K Maniflex nib
    **SOLD** $50 or Trade/Offer **SOLD**

I've replaced the original J-bar with a new one from FountainPenSacs. It has a large sac from the previous owner that fills the diameter of the barrel, appears to work well, I've added some talc to coat the sac. The nib is a 14K Maniflex nib and there is a small crack at the base of the breather hole that stops just before the brand imprint. Has not seemed to change at all during adjustments, a previous owner probably went flex happy with the maniflex. In my writing with it the normal range of small flexing did not seem to impact it. It is for the most part a rather firm nib (it is a manifold-flex after all)

Eversharp Skyline Demi in an Army/Navy color configuration, 14K Wet Fine (firm)
    ** SOLD/TRADED ** $85 or Trade/Offer ** SOLD/TRADED **

The "Army/Navy" color is a Navy Blue body/dome, Green/Red striated celluloid cap which was originally White/Red 70+ years ago, making it a Patriotic Red/White/Blue pen for any branch of the military. Also features a less common wide cap band with no engraving on it. The pen was purchased from Write on Time Restoration a little under one year ago fully restored. Has a 14K nib that writes a firm Fine line (tipping is a little under western fine, but it's wetness puts it close to a fine). This model is from the 1940s.

Eversharp Skyline Yellow Cab Edition (~1995) w/ 14K Broad
    **SOLD** $110 or Trade/Offer **SOLD**

This is just the pen, I do not have the original box or the Taxi Cab they were sold with. Unlike most of the current modern Skylines in this price range ($300 or less), this one features a 14K Broad nib instead of a Steel nib. I've tuned and smoothed the nib so that it writes quite smoothly and puts down a wet line (not too wet though). While it says Broad I feel like this is a little closer to a medium than some of the broad nibs I've seen. Includes the original converter which is installed thru the bottom. There is a small surface crack near the bottom of the barrel which I've highlighted further below. What it looks like is someone attempted to turn the converter to the left or right forcefully causing a small crack in the surface of the barrel which doesn't seem to extend into the barrel. Does not impact the function of the pen. I've also applied a little bit of silicone grease to the converter so that it moves smoothly. The nib unit itself can unscrew from the section for easy cleaning, and the nib and feed itself is friction fit into that unit.

Platinum PTL-10000 in Red with a 18K Medium
    **SOLD** $100 or Trade/Offer **SOLD**

Purchased brand new from Japan a few months back with original box and converter. It's a tiny bit thicker and heavier than a PTL-5,000, and feels more solid than it's little brother. What's nice is that if you unscrew the cap ring at the back of the section you can push the nib and feed out thru the back for a deeper cleaning. The 18K Medium seems to have a tipping and wetness that's a little larger and wetter than that of the Platinum Century 3776 I had with a 14K Medium.

Pilot Elite from March 11th 1970 w/ 18K Soft Fine
    **SOLD** $100 or Trade/Offer **SOLD**

Yes the date code LO 11 has it down to the day on the barrel. It is a short elite very close to the size, thickness, and weight of a modern E95S. Has some light marks but overall nice condition. It's a very comfortable pen to use and the Soft Fine on it isn't quite as 'flexy' as a Pilot Falcon with a Soft Fine, but feels much more controlled and easier to write with. Includes a Pilot Con-20 converter. It works very well with more saturated inks in regards to staying wet. But that's also a gripe I have with it. The way it stays wet is a sponge in between the nib and feed (roughly where the intake hole is in the front). That sponge or felt is what keeps the nib wet and ready to write, but it also means it takes longer to flush the ink if you wish to change inks, so something to keep in mind. I gave the entire pen an ultrasonic cleaning before putting it into the tray for storage.

    Pictures

    Closer Shots of the Nibs

A View of the small surface crack in the barrel. I can run it thru the ultrasonic which will remove some of the dirt that makes the crack visible. It does not go all the way thru, appears to be in the surface.

And the brassing on the Nighthawk. May add some character, but some people may not like it. Highlighted here is the worst of it, the rest of the pen has little bits of brassing or chips like on the ball of the clip, but not as bad as the left side of the section.

Sorry I seemed to have forgotten to add them (they were on the Imgur album). Moment.

Edit: Added them in under the bolded item name.
