Hi Everyone,
My name is Charlie, I'm a 29 year old fountain pen user from south east UK. I used fountain pens at school up until around 13 years old when I began using computers to do my schoolwork. Recently my job involves signing and annotating many legal documents which has piqued my interest in sturdy classic writing implements. My first adult foray into fountain pens was a Cross Century II Medalist. After much research online I decided on Noodler's Zhivago for my first ink. I love Noodler's diverse range of unusual colours and found Zhivago diluted 1:1 with water to be my colour of choice in that pen. Recently I bought a Cross Townsend Medalist to match my other pen and allow me to experiment with multiple inks on the fly, and a chrome century II for my missus. Liking Noodler's Zhivago I bought Noodler's Black and Noodler's Purple Wampum, the Purple for my girlfriend's pen and to mix with black to make a purple-black ink for work. I find the Townsend writes rather wet and am considering sending it to cross to service as it's relatively new and never been dropped or damaged and wrote wet out of the box.
Most recently I have ordered 4 Baoer 338 fountain pens in steel and gold, to experiment further with inks and to give friends, a Noodler's flex fountain pen in black pearl to teach myself some new styles. Inkwise I've ordered a bottle of Noodler's Heart of Darkness and Black Swan in English Roses, however I'm waiting for these to arrive. I will try and get some reviews up.
I also have a (nearly full) bottle of Noodler's Baystate Cranberry that I am looking to trade for something a little less pink. I am not sure if it's allowed on this site so I'll wait for confirmation before creating any threads.
