I am after an Italic nib unit that fits the M200. I believe M. 400 and M. 600 and maybe even the M800 nibs fit the M200. I only need a steel nib as the gold ones would be far too expensive for me.

The M600 will only fit an M200 if the nib has been seated deeply enough into the collar so that it doesn't collide with the cap.
The M800 will definitely not fit (bigger unit diameter).
M200 will take a screw unit from a vintage 1xx/4xx, or M1xx/M2xx/M4xx.
Such as this gold-plated Steel 1.0 from an MC120 that I sold with my M250 the other day.
(I don't think the above were tipped, as opposed to an italic unit that was grounded down from a round unit).
The M400 will take the same nibs as the M200.
The M600 will take all the same nibs plus other M600 nibs.
The M800 only takes M800 nib units. (Same with the M1000 due to thicker diameter)
In theory you could even take loose nibs from old 140s, but you would have to disassemble the nib unit you already have and re-assemble it, which is a little harder than it sounds.

Yes. Pelikan M200, M205 and M215 are all interchangeable steel nibs. The only difference is that the M200 nib is goldplated.
BTW, Pelikan M250, M400 and M405 gold nibs will also fit your M200 pen.
For more information I would recommend you check out thepelikansperch.com

thanks for that. I just went onto Amazon and there is one nib left. It says it is $68 including free shipping. By the time I went to check out the item is now $140 shipped to Australia. No free shipping and when USD converted to AUD and adding shipping of $53 it becomes uneconomical.
How can Amazon justify $53 for shipping a nib?

Laurie,
They might say you would have to ask Pelikan why they charge so much for the nib. Amazon probably has a set mark-up, but it is Pelikan who makes the money.
When I found that the nib was nearly as expensive as a new M200, I just went ahead and bought a Pelikan that had an italic nib (Dromgoole's in Houston was selling an M150 with one for abouat $98.00.
