SeminarianMike, the good news is I love the pen. It is every bit as smooth as it was billed.

The ink line is fascinating to me. It's super thin while still showing the quality of shading I like in my inks. Crazy cool.

My hand has to be dry and free of oils or else I feel like I don't have a good grip on it. Only downside for me.

You'd be a brave man to post a 580, def not the pen to post! As for the clips they are the weak point in the twsbi line. IMO I actually here the Eco have better clips... But I'm yet to experience an Eco!

I agree. My boyfriend got my 580 and uses it unposted. I like the mini better for myself but the clip is pretty wiggly.

Yes twsbi clips are the weak link of the pen!

I have the purple TWSBI 580, but I never post the pen. The pen is quite long enough (and heavy enough) for my hand without it. Plus, I do not trust the cap to not come flying off.

I've sort of gotten used to not posting the caps, though. I only do it on short pens like the Pilot Kakuno and such that are light pens.

I don't care at all about clips. I don't use them, so it matters not to me whether they are springy or not.

Me too - but I don't even post the Mini!
If it weren't for aesthetics, I wouldn't care about the clips on pens either. It's funny, but I have never even tested the springiness or lack thereof in any of my pens clips...

Well I just ordered a stub diamond 580 from Goulet.... Said I wasn't going to buy another 'work' pen for a while but I had to put in an order for some notebooks, so it jumped in the cart 'by accident'. At least that's my story and I'm sticken to it

I got a TWSBI 580 in medium last night in the mail. I have written less than 2 pages with it so far and already it is my most favorite pen! I am just completely in love! As soon as Goulet has their inkwells back in stock, I will be placing an order for the mini with a finer nib.

I truly love my twsbi! My mom just stole mine so I have to buy another ASAP! I have improved my hand writing allot after I trained my hand to hold a pen the right way lol!

I got a couple of the inkwells directly from TWSBI. I love them. Jetpens also has them with free shipping.

I've been using the twsbi almost exclusively since I received it. Only time I've used another pen was when writing letters and I wanted to change the color up. I haven't used any other pen at work since then.

+1 for ordering from TWSBI. They ship quickly as well.

Another Extra Fine? Will you ever try their italic nib or do you not like them?

Right now I am just out for practical usage. For fancy correspondence I use my vintage flex pen. Eventually I will get into italics. I am waiting for nemosine to restock their .8 italic nibs. I actually ordered a prera instead of the twsbi. Also I really need to stop ordering pens and buy a camera so I can finish reviews

Any idea if they're doing the same for the other colours too? I am still hoping to get a purple one.

I think all of the color versions are limited editions. Right now they are offering a green one.

Let us know what nib size and how you like it!
TWSBI pens are something I would like to try...
Got to pick a nib size and a model!
The Eco, 580 and Vac 700 all intrigue me.
