Official Dates for DC? I need to get my tickets/reservations

Has anyone heard an official date for the DC Show this year? I've heard a lot of tentative dates thrown around, but I'd like to get my tickets as soon as possible (flying from Seattle to DC is expensive if I wait too long.) Apologies if this has been answered/discussed in other threads. I didn't see it from my searching.

According to what I was hearing around the LA Show, the DC show gets a lot cheaper hotel rates when Congress is not in session. It looks like the DNC and RNC both have their convetions the last two weeks of July, and the whole month of August is schedule for the Summer Holiday, but perhaps the election cycle is messing around with the DC schedule.

In any case, I hope we find something out soon. Imma be pretty ticked if I can't get a room at the hotel because I waited too long.

Both Susan Wirth's website and the PCA site have confirmed dates of August 4-7 for the 2016 DC Supershow. Those are the dates I have made plans around. I too, have emailed and called Bob Johnson, and received no reply, but I trust both of these confirmed sources as accurate.

I booked my tickets and hotel this past weekend.

I'm a travel agent and here is advice I can offer: it's okay to go ahead and reserve your hotel because if you cancel before a certain date, there is no charge. For anyone squeamish about airfare without 100% certainty on the dates, go Southwest (if you have that option) because you can change the ticket dates for no fee (except the difference in the cost of the tickets).

Hope this info helps if anyone is nervous about booking.

Hmmm. . . there is an outside chance that I might be in DC the week before the show. Might have to stretch things out just a bit.

I was able to attend the DC show about 5 or 6 years ago. What an experience!
