LOVE those bagpipes Marsilius They are marching to their own music!!!

Ptero ~ more great work form you and you junior. The cat reminds me of a book about a Siamine kitten called Blueboy, that I loved to read as a child. That is a very happy looking monster. Must have just had a good meal (hopefully not the cat)

Migo984 ~ really nice details on that sketch. Did you do it on the spot or take a photo and draw it later? I usually have to do that these days as I can't see both distance and close-up enough to draw. The iPad has been great for that...I can enlarge things for details (or I might as well just make a big old blur and call it a day).

The seaweed was from a photo. It's winter down here and the weather is a bit unpredictable for outside sketching at the moment.
My current project is a photo (and a sketch of the photo) each day. Just random objects, and makes for an interesting journal to look back on.
I know what you mean about eye-sight, and problems with focus. I need plenty of assistance in that area too!

Thanks Migo & Pira, I always tell him when somebody likes his drawing.
And he checks with me the view count on flickr and the favorites.
He is always very happy and proud if his drawing get more views than mine for these we publish together.

Pira, I just saw your newest one with the shadow of the cat, this is amazing, you have to post it also here!

I also have something new, trying Kreul Solo Goya Mask Paint (for the Background).
    This product works really well.

Ptero ~ it's always a lot of fun to see kids work. It's great that you two are doing this together and can enjoy the process of creating and sharing on social media

As for the mask...you know I have never used any brand of this substance. Perhaps I need to try it....especially since it's sitting on my desk. I just never seem to get the cap off the bottle. *shakes head* Excellent Dark Knight

Pira - that is brilliant, but scary! The stuff of my nightmares. I don't like cats at the best of times. I remember watching an old 1930s horror film about a cat that had been taken over by an evil spirit. Urrrgh! Your Nekomata reminds me of that film.....

I definitely need to work on improving my perspective. Doesn't help that I took a wonky pic of my sketch! LOL

Migo984 ~ GREAT peir drawing! Perspective is always difficult but I think you really had a good grip on it with this sketch. By the way...super compostion. I like the way the entire image is like an X

...as for my nekomata. Huh...several people have said they were nervous looking at the illustration which perplexedme. My reason of course is that I am very fond of felines (and have lived with them all my life) but also...I find drawing 'scary' images very difficult. That is why so many of my mythical creatures in this weekly alphabet animal challenge turn into jokes instead of 'illustrations' because I just don't have it in me. To actually 'accidentally' draw one that is frightening surprised me, in particular because I was actively avoiding it but at the same time, wanted to give a nod to the mythology. I guess yourself and others who find it disturbing share the feelings of those who would have originated the cat/demon story in the first place. THAT is pretty cool.

Continuing to play with KWZI ~ Foggy Green ink

...this time on Bockingford 140lb watercolour paper. I am just testing this paper out for the first time and it's an epiphany. For illustration purposes I have to say it's the finest surface I have ever encountered....I can hardly wait to try out the 200lb.
