Default Thoughts on the Visconti 2016 LE pens?

    Hi All,

I just saw a post about Visconti's 2016 LE. Wow, the HS London Fog and Divina with a Manhattan finish are going to be tough to decide between! (maybe I should just get both :-P )

What do you all think? Anyone else as excited as I am??

They're lovely, but sadly the price makes it really easy to decide. Neither.

Current pen rotation: way too many!

I like the London fog. I would need to see it in person before buying. The divina doesn't do anything for me. The Manhattan acrylic doesn't resonate with me. I'm glad Visconti is coming out with some new pens.

I'm about the same, the London Fog will be a nice complement to my Florentine Hills. But the stacked celluloid in the Divina shape just doesn't resonate, I liked it better in the squaring the circle shape like Wallstreet.

I will get the London Fog as soon as it's out. Love it! Fontoplumo says mid may, but Brian Goulet said on a Periscope vid around Oct/Nov.

I like the cap of the London Fog but I'm not keen on the barrel. If the barrel matched the cap I'd be interested.

Sort of agree - the barrel looks like a HS Crystal Age gone wrong. However I think it could look quite nice with the right patterning as this sort of material can vary greatly between pens.
I wish Visconti would do a purple or orange version of the HS Crystal.

The stacked celluloid in the Divina shape maybe an acquired tasted as Zchen says it seems to look better on the squared WallStreet/Opera or the round Manhattan/RebeccaMoss Hampton or the LE HomoSapiens.
Maybe it will look better in the hand as you rotate the pen.

Also notice a rollerball in the old VanGogh body variation with an Ashford style clip.
sinistral hypergraphica - a slurry of ink

That rollerball looks so sporty! Maybe its the carbon fiber.

I agree a purple HS would be really nice. And as much as I do love the stacked celluloid, I think it looks better when it isn't truncated with the metal (silver I think?) structure in the divina. But I am such a sucker for those stacked celluloid pens... it still may happen...

Perhaps the Chatterley Pens Cosmopolitan II or Desert Springs style Divina would work better with the stacked celluloid as they don't have the silver ribs.
The one with Aida material (2nd from the right) looks pretty spiffy.

I'm a dope - the Cosmopolitan I was actually in stacked celluloid http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/fo...-fountain-pen/

I agree purple or orange would be a nice change.

Here's a blog post with some photos of Visconti's '16 pens (from Baselword 2016).

I'm not particularly impressed. I like the look of Watermark (but only in silver), and I did get myself a Rembrandt in khaki. While I like the green colour quite a lot, the pen itself doesn't do much for me ... I'm mostly very curious what the price of the non-retractable Pininfarina (ha, until now I called it "pinafarina" ) will be. Considering the lack of the retracting mechanism, I imagine it will be less than the price of the retractable one – or am I wrong?

The only pen I like in the whole article is the Wild West and Charreria model.

I guess I am not the target market for Visconti

The London Fog is the one I'd consider.

I am still hoping that they make the HS with an ink window, as was done for Michael Jecks of Writerly Witterings - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b4C6-TTurA
