Default A different kind of note card. Really like these.

Thought I would share these. Didn't see these mentioned here before, but I like them. All copies from the Library of Congress card catalogs.

Rather unique to my thinking. Do read the reviews so there are no surprises.

You can find the a bit less expensive on other sites, unless you are a prime member and then the two day shipping is included

Interesting but what are they used for, they look like some have typing already on them? Also what are they called or could you provide the link?

    Thanks

I think the used ones are there for us to see how they are used, VertOlive.

The ones we can buy are on the right side of the photo.

I was intrigued enough to go and read some of the reviews on Amazon.com.

I may be wrong, but I think that there are cards with writing/printing on one side, plus blue envelopes and a cardboard box that looks like an old wooden box, to keep them in. I'm fascinated.

I recall seeing the same thing for sale at the British Library when I was last there. Sold as library card notecards, in a replica wooden box. I checked & they still sell them

    Guys,

These are copies of Catalog Cards from the Library of Congress. The backside of the card is to be used for writing thank you notes or whatever and they come with envelopes for mailing.

The "wood" boxes are made of cardboard with a wood grain print.

I have several pen-o-phile friends that will like getting notes on these.

    Yes. Those are the ones.

My Googling turned up Amazon Prime as the best price with shipping included. There are several places that offer them in the 13-15$ range, but shipping kicks that up about 3 to 4$ more.

Mine should be in later this week.

I will let you all know what the final opinions are.

I purchased them to be thank you notes to my friends that love books. Should be a psych for them!

Just received the cards today and they are far better than I was anticipating. Even the box, though made out of cardboard or some type of industrial paper with a thickness of about 1/8", is really sturdy. The wood grain graphics on the box are very well done.

For $16.00 and some change you can't go wrong.

Also the reproduction cards are superb. They actually look handwritten. Just cool stuff and nice not to be disappointed with something this reasonably priced.
