For me, getting writing samples from happy buyers who bought the pens I restored.
I post these with their permissions, of course.
My buyers are awesome
How about you?

What makes you happier than getting a new pen?
Well, Emerald of Chivor when first released worked wonders for me!

A cool front in early May (such as we are now enjoying) that brings crisp mornings and banishes high humidity for a few days. (Hey, summer in Houston comes too early and stays too late - - so I'm relishing the moderate conditions while I can).

I really like this thread because it made me realize that the list of things that I'm very happy with in my life is too long to fit in a post like this, which is easy to forget sometimes. The short list is my motorcycle, mathematics when my brain is functioning, the people that actually know me.
My Pinterest Feel free to add me on Facebook as well.

Watching my tiny son swing a huge thurible while serving Mass.
All 4 dogs in the hammock with me at once.
An excellent book.
Espresso on the deck.
Sailing Lake Michigan.
Oh, the list could go on...

Watching hares box in the fields at dawn.
Finally putting a Comtoise clock back together after a week of cleaning.
My kitten coming to the workshop door to miaow for a cuddle.
Seeing an orchard full of cowslips with the dew still on them.
And
Getting a new pen for a single euro in a car boot sale. Always puts a smile on my face and I did it again this weekend.

A bike ride, planning a longer bike ride with friends (a trip involving trains, too), taking pictures, reading a book, Łapa wagging her tail in her sleep (she is a dog), and the countless other simple pleasures.
But what's really nicer than getting a new pen is finding the perfect pen-and-ink match -- and paper, too, especially if the paper is cheap (cos I go through that faster than I go through inks and pens). Also, figuring out, no, really, which are my favorite pens and selling or giving away the used-to-be favorites (cos that was what I was down to before the next purge). Also, getting the number of inked pens down to five (okay, seven, including the two vintage pens that I leave at home, since I get everywhere on bike and this is a city with many cobblestone streets and other bumpy paths) and feeling the "yes, these pen-and-ink combinations, yes." That sweet spot that calms the jangly sense of "too many inked pens, aaaaagh!"

Singing with my barbershop quartet and hitting chords perfectly! Got the chance to sing with an award winning quartet last night, and it was almost a religious experience! New pens are a close second, though!

Not much...maybe getting a new knife.
On second thought, a new car would be nice.
Sitting in my new really large recliner, specially bought to accommodate me and my dogs, watching pen videos on YouTube. Nice when your family can share your addiction.
A kiss from the Lovely Ms. Marie!
