Joining the "meh!" group. And the the RSP will be around €500 (including 21% sales VAT)! I wonder what I'm not seeing ...

€500. - considering that the stainless is sold at €275.- there and around $300 here, that could push the price limit over the $600.- mark...

I might just get another L2k (that would be No. 6) and have it nibmeistered to a unique grind to celebrate the anniversary. After all, the L2k in its ordinary configuration is still my 'best pen' in the stable...

I was the one who asked him that question!

I love the 2000. I think the photos of this one look nice. Actually, much nicer than I had feared, reading speculation of colored 2000's and such. (Personal taste and all, and mine is weird.)

But I think that price is too high for me, with my already-blown budget. And, according to the other thread here, this one might be heavy, like the stainless steel 2000. So I am extremely unlikely to buy one. But if it were lightweight and cost $300, I'd be in trouble.

I do know other people who say they are buying. And I'm sure it will be a success for Lamy. But the edition seems like a pretty high number to me -- so, not going to sell out in a month.

The Makrolon version is light and the stainless steel version is heavy... So this is supposed to meet somewhere in the middle?

I am not enthused and I expect it won't sell well. If it has an ink window, I might consider picking one up on discount.

Here's a better photo than the one on Instagram:

So there's no ink window. Bugger!

I wonder if the seam at the grip will be less noticeable in the final production. And I wonder what the material is exactly, makes me think of the palladium colored studio.

If it's anything like the stainless model, yes, the transition from barrel to grip section will be sharp and noticeable. the section will also wobble a bit with use, shifting the sharp edge around the circumference... But maybe Lamy has resolved that issue.
It looks indeed like they are going to PVD coat the barrel as they do on the "Imporium" - which means underneath could be anything metallic... Still a nice pen, but not 'better' or more exciting than the original for anything other than its being a limited edition.

Looks like it could be a coated version of the stainless steel 2000. Too heavy for me.

Well, I won't "meh" at it until I know a little more, but I got the Makrolon version of the 2000 because the stainless steel type cost more than I wanted to pay. So I have to figure that a limited edition will be even more than that, and I'll be even less inclined to go for it. I really like the kind I have, though.

I like it a lot. I'm not sure if I'm in at 500 Euro, but I do like the tone/ color/ finish.

My only wish was that they make one with the L on he piston turning knob like the originals for the anniversary. That would have been retro cool. Also offering something performance wise that they don't now, like say factory tuned medium stub.
