Out of those 2 pen is one really that much better or worse than the other?

Feel wise I prefered the 1911L (Large) with a 21k H-MF over a Platinum Century 3776 with a 14k FM. The nib felt nicer on the sailor. Where as a nib on the 1911M being 14k had a bit more tooth to it.
The converter on Platinum seems nicer than Sailor's though.
The 1911L is larger/thicker than the Century 3776, but the Century 3776 is slightly larger/thicker than a 1911M.
One of the selling points to the Century 3776 is that it has a slip and seal cap which claims to keep the nib from drying out from up to 24 months when left capped. But I haven't had much an issue with either a 1911L or 1911M drying out with more saturated inks.

The one I am eye balling is the sailor 1911 standard if that makes a difference i think with a 21K nib
Sailor Profit Standard is 1911M , which normally comes with a 14k nib, Sailor Profit Standard 21 is the 1911M with a 21k nib (which is still the smaller pen). The latter is only on the Japanese market. And if you're looking at them on Engeika, they're not in stock and won't be available for several weeks despite what the website says (that's the one I had ordered and been waiting two weeks before being told it will be several more weeks).
Yep the show it available in Broad Nib Only so this is incorrect I take it?
Man I looked at way too many today that one is 14K nib shows Broad in stock i wonder if it is actually in stock
Normally I would say take a look at Pen-House on Rakuten ... but looking at their sailor category all the products went *poof*

The plastics on the Sailor pens are noticably superior in my opinion; warmer, smoother, more substantial, and more resistant to scratching.
I also feel Sailor nibs are superior to pretty much anything else out there, but I do have a Century 3776 with the soft fine nib and it does write beautifully particularly on Tomoe River which can be too smooth for some other nibs.
Niether pens will dissapoint - they are both very shrewd and practical choices, the Century is a good daily use working writer, but if you have the chance to try both I am certain you will feel the difference and choose the Sailor.
Well i found a Sailor in stock in my price range with a B Nib I have never had a Broad. I am partial to fine butI have several fine nib and medium pens. Maybe it is time to venture out with a different nib size
Is there a hurry? Get the nib you like.
I also prefer the 1911, though part of that is that I don't like the soft fine on the 3776 as much as I thought, and I don't like translucent pens as much as I thought; it's possible an opaque 3776 with a rigid nib might suit me more (hmm, maybe I need to start a trade thread).
Also Sailor nibs, as with most Japanese pens, are said to be somewhat finer than their 'western' peers, so a broad may be more like a medium.
No necessarily a hurry sometimes I have that kid in candy shop mentality when I shop for pens. I am really leaning towards a Sailor at this point.
HA! I pulled the trigger on this sailor. http://www.engeika.com/product/3752 I emailed Engeika and they had in in stock for sure in broad nib. I guess it suppose to be a rare color they show. Anyhow I actually like the Ivory color my self. i was hesitant about a broad nib however read that a Japanese Broad is like a western Medium. We will see. Any how they gave me a $5 off first order over $50 and I added a Pink PLATINUM PLAISIR in fine I will give to my wife to smooth over for another pen purchased.
All in with shipping was $79 and some change ....
Looks very fifties...
Engeika are great; good price but be prepared for import taxes!
Although I love the UK AUS and CA glad I dont live in those countries that are that strict on import taxes
After purchase they also confirmed this pen in MF Zoom and Music is in Stock as well.
http://www.engeika.com/product/64 Seems like a good price I wish I would of seen the Zoom Nib that looks interesting.
Well All I received my Sailor 1911 today. Wow what a nice pen and very smooth writer. It only took a week from Japan. I am told the 1911 in Ivory is Rare and was a limited edition. I am not 100% certain if that is try but thats what I am told. I was skeptical about ivory but love the color even more in person. Also the bold nib has some line variation. I feel this writes more like a Medium nib as far as comparison to some of my china made medium nibs. This model has a 14K nib and so far I am very pleased. I have small / medium size hands so this pen fits me well. I want to use it as a daily writer to see how well I will like the Broad / Medium nib. I am so use to fine nibs I think I just need to get use to it.
