    Default Conklin Crescent Filler Repair

    20160719_213158.jpg

My wife dropped the pen cap on my Conklin crescent filler in hot coffee and it came apart. See pic. Ideally I would like to clean the pen and remove the current glue that is now hard and add new glue to make a better fix. Is it possible to clean the glue that is on it without damaging the pen? Would an IPS Weld-On 16 Acrylic Plastic Cement work to keep the cap and inner ring in place? Would that cement be clear? The clip seems to have some play when put inside with the ring so I am assuming that needs a different type to glue to stay in place? (I have lots of questions. Can you tell that I really care about this pen?)

From reading online I've read that the material is a clear acrylic resin and that I have to be careful with the type of glue and cleaning solution that is used since some solution can deteriorate the pen. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Call Yafa (yafa.com). I really doubt the warranty would apply, but they might be able to repair or replace the cap for a fee.
