And don't forget the new postal challenge starting in September over there at http://s-mail.proboards.com/, not as hectic as InCoWriMo and you won't be stuck for things to write in a first letter!

International Economy letter posted on Tuesday returned today with a sticker telling me I had not put enough postage on my "Airmail letter" - no Airmail sticker anywhere on this letter. Weight was 14grams.
I went to the Post Office who said "Nothing to do with us, that's Royal Mail"
    Royal Mail office closed.
I rang the number on the sticker and after a good five minutes of "press 1 for......, press 2 for......" I got through to a person (from Royal Mail remember) who told me International letter rate was £1.33!! I had to educate her on "International Economy" by directing her to page 15 of the leaflet.
I was then told to send my (personal) letter in to make a complaint.
I was also told that I should have marked my envelope "International Economy", it does not state this anywhere in the leaflet nor on the website.
    Complaint made.
    Very, very cross.
Unbelievably it has been returned again after I put it in a new envelope with new stamps. AND a sticker stating "International Economy"!!

Further update. Apology from Royal Mail CEO and she is going to forward anymore incorrectly returned letters personally.

Unlike many here, I don't much enjoy writing handwritten letters of any length. But in honor of having just met a woman who does love handwritten letters, to whom I recommended Philip Hensher's The Missing Ink, I've just whizzed off a handwritten letter to an FP enthusiast I'd fallen out of touch with, he having stopped tinkering with pens in favor of playing the cello and acquiring high-end audio equipment. I like to think he will at least remember what fountain pens are.

Good for you! Its like riding a bike, you can't forget how to write letters, especially with fountain pens.

I posted about 10 days ago 8 post cards while in the US on a visit to Florida. My kids got one finally last Friday. Hopefully the rest have made it to penpals.

Stopped writing a day to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary yesterday. Back to the nibs today and completely cleared my response stack.

I never receive handwritten letters, but my man spends a great deal of time across the country, so I write to him once a week even though we talk every day. Just finished a card written in de atramentus document ink fuchsia.
I can tell where I'm not wanted.

Someday that'll be on my tombstone.
