In general numbers, I have more Sheaffer, Waterman and Parker pens than any other brands, then Montegrappa, Montblanc, and ST Dupont at about similar numbers and then small samplings from Aurora, Delta, Grifos, Signum, Conway Stewart (various incarnations), Onoto (only first incarnation), Yard-o-Led, Pelikan, Ferrari da Varese, Caran d'Ache, Graf von Faber Castell, Venus, Wahl Eversharp, Franklin Christoph and Danitrio. In Japanese pens I have mostly Platinum family (Platinum & Nakaya) then Pilot and then Sailor. Also a bunch of NoNamis.

Heros, Sailors, Lamys, Sheaffers, Pelikans, Platinums, Esterbrooks, OSMIROIDS (current mania), Montblancs (only three, lol). And a few assorted Chinese, Stypen, and a Rotring.

I am sure I forgot something.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

I had a Montblanc, which got bought yesterday.
Two Pelikans, one a gift from my FP restoration teacher which I'll never sell.
One super expressive "wet noodle" CHI nib which I marry with a Waterman BCHR body. This one I'm not selling.
An azure Parker vacumatic which has a bright orange ink in it right now.
I began to have an "itch" to collect later Sheaffer models (still vintage, but just not from the 20's, 30's or 40's).
I also have a couple modern pens: Parson's Essential, Pilot Prera, Waterford, and waiting for a Retro51.

... and multitude boxes of pen parts.

And a family of Esties in a "White House"

Aurora 1 (vintage 88, very soft flex nib)
    Lamy 1 (2000M, factory OB)
OMAS 1 (556F Vintage Edition, EF nib)
    Parker 1 ("51" Aero, needlepoint)
    Pelikan 3 (3 400s, assorted flexy nibs)
    Waterman's 1 (HR 14s saftey, M stub wet noodle)

I don't intend this list to be subject to any change in the near future--I really think I can withhold from buying any more until I finish college.

(Over the years, Pelikans (12), Parkers (11), Sheaffers (11) and Auroras (7) have seen the most frequency in my collection, followed by TWSBIs (4). Everything else I've only owned a few of. )

The vintage Esties and Greg's LeBoeufs and Watermans are so pretty!

I have Lamys, Esties, Sheaffer, Magellan, Edison, Sailor, Pilot, Diamond Point, a Pelikan (Amethyst), no-name ones. I guess what's more interesting is that I don't have a Parker Vacumatic or a Waterman (well, does a Kultur count?). My one Visconti is a Rembrandt.

Couple of Pilots (823, 912), 7 bottom of the barrel Mabie Todds, an F-C 66, a barely holding it together Waterman 52 that would make you weep in pity, a Parker (English) Duofold in average shape, a vintage Aurora 88P, and Parson's Essential.

Nothing really of note, nothing of much value, and nothing of any real aesthetic charm. Most of the vintage pens have nibs that the majority of you would probably roll your eyes at. This represents, in my opinion, a true example of what can be acquired without having to pay Shylock, for someone as remote as I am.

Well, I won't give a complete list at this point.

But, more Esterbrooks than any other vintage brand.

More Pilots than any other modern brand, although this includes a couple of no longer made models.

For other vintage pens, anything that struck me as interesting:
    • Conklin Crescent fillers.
    • Several Moores.
    • A few Watermans.
    • Assorted Parkers, Vacumatic, 51, 21, 61.
    • A couple of Mabie Todd Swans.
    • A bunch of Pen Pencil combos (pencil on one end, pen on the other) mostly Wearevers.
    • Sheaffers from the 30s through the 70s.
    • A lonely 1950s Conway Stewart.
    • And others.

For modern pens, in addition to my favorite Pilots.
    • A couple of late 1970s Montblancs that I don't want to call vintage.
    • A couple of Platinums.
    • A couple of Lamys, of which only my 2000 makes the favorites list.
    • A couple of Pelikans.
    • A couple of Kawecos.
    • An assortment of cheap Chinese pens of various quality levels. One, a Haolilai with a 14k nib is actually quite good.
    • And other things.
"If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly."

Edisons, Franklins, a couple of Pelikans and a few Sheaffer legacies occupy my daily users. I'm either an eye dropper, or piston filler type. Converters never have given me the flow that I desired. Like my Edisons for sure.

Default Re: What's in YOUR collection?

Lots of pens! I tend to have sub-collections, and then there are the odd pens I've picked up in the wild, which sometimes lead me on to a new collecting mania... and sometimes not.

Edison Colliers - a mini collection, I now have four, as well as some other Edison models.
Bexleys - quite a few. I'm looking for a Poseidon Magnum now - I may have to see what Sarj has got at the next pen show I go to!
Parkers - a whole collection of 51s, including Kullock and Bexley customised ones. I quite like having 'naughty' modern 51s - rippled ebonite, lavender swirly acrylic, demonstrators.
Waterman - Apostrophe, Laureat, Le Man, and the cheaper Forum and Kultur ranges, plus some gorgeous vintage.
French vintage - mainly found in the wild and on French ebay: Bayard, Edacoto, Meteore. Lovely celluloids.
Indian pens - collected in India, including a big collection of modern cheapies, and also bought through group buys and through Indian pals. Ratnam, Ratnamson, Guider, Ranga, ASA, Fosfor, Deccan, and some vintage as well.
Merlin - lovely colourful little pens made in Germany for the Dutch market. I've got a whole box and I'm still looking for one or two of the rarer patterns/colours.
Pelikan - a 100, 100N, all three 101ns, several 400s both old and new (white torty is my favourite), 600 vibrant green.
Kaweco Art Sport - a nearly complete collection. Three to go! Last year I scored the Visconti/Kaweco set in green and bronze, one of my Grails.
Platinum 3776s - seven at last count all found second-hand on ebay or through the forum :-)

As if all this wasn't enough I also have a weakness for collecting knockoffs alongside the pens they copy. So I have a lot of Pelikan-esque piston fillers, some faux Waterman Experts and Laureats, and a mini collection of 'Vacumatic' celluloids.

    in use:
    Lamy - 10 (5 L2k's)
    Franklin-Christoph - 7
    Sailor - 3
    Pelikan - 2
    Pilot - 1
    Lindauer - 1

    hanging around:
    TWSBI - 3
    Reform - 1
    Noodler's - 1
    Montblanc - 2
Prognosis: there will be a few more F-C's to come, and also more L2k's and Peli 2xx/40x, perhaps a Sailor KOP and a Lindauer or two.
Why so many L2k's? Fave pen, need more ink and nib options in that one, so they keep adding up. I also like the variety of colors/finishes they are available in: charcoal (when new), matte black (after a year or two), shiny black with lighter striations (over 5 years old), glossy black except in a few spots (10 years or older); and, of course, the conspicuous SS and infamous 'black (?) amber (?)'.
