Successfully reaching the end of a three year work journey. Media event Monday and I'll post more about the next historic moment here at KSC!! The team is so excited. Here is a teaser.

Dinner at the port and watching two cruise ships leave for the weekend. Gorgeous, wish I was on board one!

Time this evening to write some letters. Plus, Cwent sent me the coolest envelope today, no way I will be able to top that!!

Does that cruise ship have a white Micky mouse head on the funnel ?

So much for swimming with the fishes!

Neighbor's 22 year old son offered to help with a furniture chore and to help return a rental truck. He went second hand store browsing with me - and thanked me because he enjoyed the outing, and he thought the old National Geographic Map Atlas I bought for envelope making was cool.

I had planned on getting a complete dining set from craigslist for only $250, but the distance was near to 100 miles round trip and this old bod can't handle the truck travel and heavy lifting, so was going to let it go - until neighbor's son's friend showed up out of the blue and said he'd help - and the dining set was still available. Oh yeah. Heavy oak formal table, 6 chairs, buffet and hutch - all in very good condition for a very reasonable price. And - it is exactly the set I'd been wishing I could find - and if I did - could afford! No more keyboard lap tray and paper plates, as I now have places to put my china and dishes besides a rental storage unit!

Finally got a packet of paperwork I have been anxiously awaiting from my lawyer so I can push ahead with my retirement and maybe still have a little bit of savings left after all is said and done.

Congratulations! They say in the first year they scare you to death, the second year they work you to death, and the third they bore you to death. That was about right 25-22 years ago, so congratulations on that great first term and keep up the good work!
Thank you so much Tracy! I am in the UK. I have completed my Law degree (three years undergraduate) and Law School is only one year, so I have one more term to go! Then, I have to train for two years. I can honestly say that this year has been the most difficult year of my academic career, but it has all been worth it. I do not regret one minute of it. Thank you for the well wishes!

    Over the weekend, we:

    1. Planted out a mini-vegetable garden consisting of spring greens, peas, sunflowers and taters, and ate freezer meals all weekend.

    2. Also got lucky at yard sales and flea markets with two (beater) Parker fountain pens, metal baking pans, trays, pizza dough conditioners, a ceramic cheese plate, some books, five ceramic mugs, and a plastic tray.

    3. The total for everything was about eight bucks.

Today, I have the pens in a mug...and am continuing to crochet these bags:

I found more bag-worthy yarn cached around the house. Plus, I found an old bag I thought I had lost! Like finding an old friend, lol.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

    1. Found asparagus in store...big fat stalks to prep for Easter meal, and they are done, sitting in the freezer just needing some thawing, buttering and lemonizing.

    2. Learned about a new-to-me poetry form, the diamante.

    3. Still crocheting bags....working two now for a friend's birthday. I enjoy making bags out of yarn you wouldn't ordinarily consider to be 'bag-worthy.'

Had a few nice Easter eggs.

A long weekend ahead and pretty much everyone left the office early. I happily stayed until 6:30 -- I suppose it's a sign that I love my work.

Did I mention a long weekend ahead?

It's Day 1 of a 4-day weekend, nothing's open and it's been raining. Perfect excuse to stay inside, read about pens and play with pens, ink & paper.

My new walking boots are so comfortable.

Just had a great cup of coffee.

Partying much of the day with the Pad A team!
Watching the Falcon 9 launch successfully for its third ISS supply mission.
Closing out the day with a bang trim and a pedicure with nail polish that looks like Diamine Ancient Copper. Also, the spa had the purse and tote I have been eyeing for 4 months at 20% off so they are mine now!

Went to my favorite store for envelope paper and hit the mother lode. Can't wait to get started.

Treated myself to a horror matinee in a theater, I haven't done that in years. Oculus. It was . . . Okay.

Won a bottle of ink last night in the Anderson 100th podcast. I never win stuff so that was fun!!

New grandson Charlie was born safely today, joining Mason and Douglas as cousin and brother. Mom and Dad are also doing well.

It's a beautiful 79 degrees with tomorrow forecasted the same.

Research papers are FINISHED. From here on we will be studying a novel and reviewing for semester exams.

    1. Heard an unusual bird call, caught a glimpse of a hawklike bird way up a tree, and when it flew off there were two of them.

    2. Have a somewhat likely ID due to bird call research.

    3. Finished up an elegant-looking bag for a friend.
