Suffused with bad movies that have zero entertainment value, we (re) watched a favorite: Ice Station Zebra, with Rock Hudson, Patrick McGoohan, and Ernest Borgnine, 1968.

But then…what were we thinking? Continuing in the Invisible Man vein, we tried The Invisible Woman, 1940, and choked down eight minutes of this smarmy, unfunny slapstick flop that John Barrymore had somehow wandered into.

For now, we are watching not a movie, but an old anime series, Princess Nine, about a high school girl's baseball team, rendered completely awesome thanks to a score by the Warsaw Philharmonic.

I watched the 1990 movie version of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, made by Tom Stoppard himself based on his earlier play. I've never seen the stage version, and found myself thinking about how certain aspects of the film must have been quite different from the play.

On the whole, I liked it. The idea of seeing oneself as a minor character in someone else's story is clever.

Watched the Ben Hecht movie "Angels Over Broadway". Fine movie, some laughs but not a screwball comedy like "Front Page". What a cast! Douglas Fairbanks, a very young Rita Hayworth, the great Thomas Mitchell, and John Qualen. You will remember Qualen, a fine character actor, as "Berger, I'm Norwegian, sir. Can I interest you in this ring" from Casablanca. And Earl Williams, the condemned killer, in "His Girl Friday".

Just watched it, on your description. I gave it a 9 on IMDB's rating. Stewart is unusually cynical for Stewart, a good approach, and Colbert is "wonderful" as a "poetess".

@welch, thanks for sharing your find. Just to nitpick, it's Douglas Fairbanks Jr
I don't know if you've seen the Thin Man Series with William Powell and Myrna Loy. In the 2nd one, Jimmy Stewart has one of his early roles. Enough said

"Big Hand for a Little Lady" (1966) - very good Western with a lot of stars. Excellent acting. It could have been written for a different place and time and been just as good. It's about an annual high stakes poker game in the back of a saloon.

    "Follow Me Quietly" from
1949. A 60 minute B/noir that was quite entertaining despite having a lot of implausible scenes.

    Lots.of misses.
    Two Netflix movies.
If you want to experience virtual lobotomy within the first 10 minutes of a movie, Mother of the Bride with Brooke Shields.

The 2nd one Marry Me, Jennifer Lopez and Owen Willson. If you mix a lot of 30s, opposite attracts movies, dumb down with social media, music clips, there you'll have a mixmash puke FF style movie.
FF: watch first act, fast forward to 3rd act.

    Finally, Migration (animation), ok....

Owen Wilson's sorta, kinda cute, and good with comedy, but gets stuck in lots of awful movies.

Comrade X, with Hedy Lamar, Clark Gable, Eve Arden, and all the great German exile character actors you will remember from about 1940. Felix Bresart, as hotel staffer ("valet"). Vanya, forces Gable to try to get his daughter, Hedy, out of Russia. S he is a Communist with ideas, and the Soviets need to kill at the Communists to protect Communism. Great movie from beginning to astonishing ending.

He's looking more and more (maybe it's the hair) like a battered Robert Redford
