I quite fancied pitching up to the hub in Afghanistan armed with a 200 and a flack jacket but opted instead for the London gig. I was told November but it turns out to be September. Will book annual leave tomorrow. Not sure about Saturday for the regular meet. The last journey was so horrid that I may stay home and howl at the moon or something.

Thought it was on October 2nd or am I wrong again?

The pen show is October the 2nd, but the Pelikan Hub is Friday September 16th (and I think that is what Annie was referring to).

Preparations are currently underway. Yesterday I received my order for ten ink syringes, fifty sample vials are on the way and I still need to pick up some labels. Shall we keep with tradition and use the same venue as last year at London Bridge? There's 35 registered now and I think we should be able to fit. View, did they ask for a deposit?

No deposit was required and they set it all up with a phone call (much easier than their website). Given the experience from the last couple of years, you can expect around 50% of those registered not to attend. So even allowing for more than that to attend, you don't need space for more than 24 on current numbers.

You will get some last minute registrations when the Hub Master in Toronto issues their invitations and people realise that they have signed up for the wrong continent

Probably, but I had a bit too much Greek wine to behave properly...

As to the breaking of plates no-one who went from the UK could afford them due to the lovely level of the exchange rate lately.

Great job, Marisa. I bought mine from PenStore in Sweden, delivered to the UK for a very reasonable price (back before the £ tanked).
Of course, the bottles are very easy to get here in Aus, but more expensive, & I didn't want to bring yet more bottles back in my suitcase

Apologies, but I'm another that won't be able to make it on Saturday: my coach has offered me some time on Saturday before my exam on Monday, and given how much practical time I lost while on sofa arrest, i can't afford to turn this opportunity down.
