Picked up ten converters for $3.25 w/ free international shipping
My first Jinhao came with one of these and it's actually working really well and I THINK/hope that these converters is international standard size so they will fit some other pens I have. If not, I have a lot of spare converters for Jinhaos

The $3.25 w/ free shipping (so 32 cents/per converter) seems to be about the norm.
    Here's some options;

    Five for $1.85

    Ten for $3.32

One can also try out once luck at auctions as there are always some sitting below three bucks

I've just ordered another load of Chinese pens to replace my Parker Reflex pens. Although the Reflex writes reasonably well if the ink isn't too gunky, it does feel a bit on the cheap side (ok, I paid 99p) and plasticky compared with the metal Jinhaos.

I ordered a Nakaya Neo Standard. It might arrive sometime in the next 6-8 months.

Went deeper into the Chinese pen wabbit hole and picked up a Jinhao X750 as I don't have that model and it's supposed to be a 'step up' from the 450 (slightly larger, Jinhao engraving, different grip).

Got the 'Chessboard' model which set me back $3 w/ free shipping:

Just ordered a Visconti Homo Sapiens Crystal Swirls LE.

(The pen in the pic is not the actual one I'm getting as I haven't decided which unique swirl pattern yet)

I'm waiting for a Wearever combo and three nibs for the Hero 359.

From my reading it seems the Hero has nibs which can exchange with the Lamy, and the Jinhao has a cap which can, but that neither of the two is completely interchangeable. I had a Lamy body and feed, but no cap or nib. A Jinhao to provide the cap came yesterday, and I am waiting on the nibs, which can be purchased on Ebay separately from the Hero pen itself. I don't have a Lamy cart - they are easy enough to get but I am tired of waiting - does anyone know if a Parker can be used in a pinch? Might as well get as many names in on the act as possible.

I do realize this is all an awful lot like sitting in a puddle making mud pies. That's a major reason to do it. You can't make mudpies wrong...

Waiting for two Italix Parsons Essentials from Massdrop. One with medium cursive stub, the other with the 18k medium nib. I hope I got it right with the stub. I still have time to change to a broad cursive stub or an italic of some sort. This will be my first non conventional nib.

I am still waiting for my Wearever combo and my Hero nibs. I can see from tracking that the Wearever is in town but that they are sending it around to all the wrong post offices. The nibs are sitting the sorting center in town. It took them 7 days to get there from China, and they have been there four days now - wanna bet they spend more time getting to me once they got here than they took to get here to begin with?

    I find this hilarious.

I am also waiting for a Romus demonstrator.

A very nice early OS Balance:

I forgot to note that this one will be on it's way, as well - something old, something new...

I ordered it from Guido (user name Rozmenko, if you buy via eBay). He's based in Hawthorn East. This colour is a little difficult to find these days. I think he has more & can offer different nib gauges.

Thanks Migo. He's actually who I also use and he is great to deal with. His replacement nibs are a LOT less than anywhere else also.
