Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: Rohrer & Klingner sketchINK Klara
This is review #251 in my series. Here's the YouTube video:
Post-recording notes: This is a pale, "mineral" (as opposed to plant or animal) green. It's a cold color and doesn't seem to lean blue or yellow, though the camera wanted to add blue. It's hard to read large blocks of text written with this. It's advertised as waterproof, lightfast, and nano-pigment. Shading is so low as to be almost non-existent. Cleaning was surprisingly easy except in places where the ink was able to dry (e.g. where the cartridge connects inside the section). In such places, I needed to rub it off, though it's possible soaking in plain water might have removed it - I didn't have the patience to wait.
(Note that this story scene is a continuation of the same scene as the previous review, so you may want to re-read that one if you forgot where it left off.)
Zoomed in photo (Fairly close.)
Screenshot (Text is too dark.)
Scan of Completed Review (Fairly close.)
Absorbent Paper Close-up (top is puzzle paper like thick newsprint, bottom is old 20lb copy paper) (Fairly close.)
Line width (One of the lines used for dry time. Magnification is 100x. The grid is 100x100µm. The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each. The line width for this ink is roughly 261µm. With 251 inks measured, the average line width is 296µm.) (The line is too blue.)
Microscope image (100x. The "lace" of the paler parts was more detailed to my eye - camera won't capture enough detail.)
Water Test Results (This ink stays put!)
