    Default Thomas Edison's beautiful penmanship

This site has some snapshots of Edison's to-do list, written in a relaxed and pleasing script: http://www.brainpickings.org/index.p...-do-list-1888/

It looks like a flexy pen was used. Very nice!

It looks beautiful, but is rather intimidating. Mine usually has things like take out the trash or stop at the supermarket.

That's a heck of a to do list!

If you like that, the US National Archives have a tumblr blog ("Today's Document") that often features handwritten documents from years past - it's worth watching - some of the copperplate on the earlier documents they post is just beautiful.

His script looks so neat and relaxed that it makes me wonder if writing it was a way of relaxing and clearing his mind. Obviously, this list was not the first time he thought of these things. If I have a lot to do, sometimes taking time to deliberately make a list is relaxing and helps me focus. For this reason, my "To Do" lists tend to be some of my best handwriting.

This is an excellent observation. I have seen his other lab notes and they appear hurried and not so neat. I can see Edison kicking back with a glass of red, turning on one of his experimental electric illuminators, and writing his masterful to-do list on a wooden desk strewn with the odds and ends of his inventions.

Here's another excellent article on How to Take Notes like Thomas Edison

    "Ink for blind" !!!
    Impressive list and hand writing.

After about for or five entries I usually end up tearing out the page and starting again.
