Thumbs up Franklin ~Christoph Penvelope Six in Boot Brown ~ New Version

So my girl ordered me this for my birthday back in June. She ordered it in May right as they pulled them as they wanted to update the leather and finishing process to the leather. Since they pulled them the day she paid we decided to let them know to keep the payment so I could get it the day the updated version arrived. While Jim Rouse wanted to be sure the cases were right and that people were happy with the updates they did not allow any pre-sales ect. But mine was ordered so I was able to secure one and Jim was fantastic. He sent it out right away when they finally arrived last week. NOTE: Jim would have refunded the money the day the order was placed and he made sure we knew what was going on with the time line etc. I only say that as I want everyone to know they certainly did not take the payment and hold me hostage till the case came in lol.

Whew... ok so it arrived and is AWESOME !!! It is everything and more than I had hoped for. Super supple leather and an interior that is perfect in every detail. The workmanship shows someone with a great eye on details and what it takes to protect pens took the time to be sure it was exceptional. Heres a few photos of it with some pens I will trust it to hold.

Full review coming but I wanted to get some pics up.

Last here is what Jim told me about the new version.

"The new custom boot leather is slightly darker but far more resistant to scratching and wear. It combines both an oil and wax finish making it very soft to the touch yet extremely durable."

The first pic is of the beautiful leather keychain Jim sent as well... Ill assume it was for my patience but waiting for this case was so worth it.

I like that color. I have the black one that I stole from Dan last year. I carry it every day to work filled with (at least) 6 pens. There are other cases that are cheaper, but when you compare them side-by-side you can see what the extra money bought you. And it is worth it. I do buy cheaper ones for storing pens in around the house, but the one that I carry is the Franklin Christoph,

I will be looking closely at these in DC. Use it well.

I have one of the old boot browns and it's my favorite case. Personally, I don't think more resistant to scratches is an improvement . I love the personality mine has developed over time.

Agreed. One of the reasons I love leather is watching it gather a patina. Leather that won't scratch feels like plastic ot me and I'm not a fan of plastic. :\

Thanks for the great photos. Lovely collection you have. I recently bought the 40 pen case from FC and could not be happier. The quality of these cases is superb.

May be the nicest case I've seen. Wonder if it comes in a 20?
