Also, if you want the full sheen effect, you need to shake the bottle before filling to get the gold dust material evenly distributed. I would shake the pen before writing as well. Can't wait to try this in my wet noodle Swan pen

Got a sacrificial Sheaffer Calligraphy w/M nib waiting for it.
I ask because I use the original red one with gold flakes in decent fountain pens, and I've been fine. At first I was nervous with the sticker on the box warning you, but it worked out fine. I don't leave it for more than a few days in the pen, and I make sure to use the pen every day, but with those precautions the original red always has cleaned up perfectly and easily. Now, fingers crossed I haven't jinxed myself.
I hope the gray is the same.

Can I ask where you got it from? Everywhere I've tried in the UK either doesn't have it or is out of stock!
