    Default newbie from Oregon

    Hi there.

    I feel a bit weird joining a fountain pen forum when I have yet to own or even write with one. However, I have been searching images online of beautiful fountain pens and have become infatuated! I figure this is a safe hobby to get into since any collecting will be easy to manage since pens are not too large. And considering the good pens are very expensive, it will take me a long time to accrue them.

    I am hoping to learn about fountain pens and see some more beautiful examples of pens. Once I have more knowledge, I am going to feel more confident at Goodwill and garage sales to find good treasures!

    Hi Andy welcome to the forum, ten years from now when your house is groaning under the weight of pens and everywhere you turn there will be bottles of ink staring back at you, your floors are covered with journals and stacks of tomoe river paper, you'll remember this day and think maybe "safe" wasn't the right choice of word...
