Who are the eleven Master Penman?

Who are the eleven Master Penman??? I've heard many times there are only eleven certified Master Penman in the world, but finding who all eleven are is nearly impossible it seems. I asked this question on the FPN Facebook page and we got four...

Probably the easiest and most accurate response would be to contact Iampeth in the USA.

As far as UK is concerned there is at least one Master Penman: Brian G Walker Dip Ed (Adv) HFCLAS IAMPETH (USA) Master Penman.

The society of Master Penman includes Masters of Penmanship and Master Engrossers. Currently, there are 700 members.
And there are 12 Master Penmen. Connie Chen achieved that status in Oct, 2015

Although the site states the membership is closed, Bill Lilly signed Connie Chen's Master Penman certificate in October, 2015 making 12 Master Penmen.

This is a very hot topic at the moment - quite how hot I wasn't fully aware until earlier this evening, in fact. Please forgive me if I don't go into details, but suffice to say that it seems likely that debate about who is or isn't a Master Penman will run on for a good while yet.

Those with sharp eyes will notice that Brian Walker isn't on the list in the post above. In case anybody was wondering, I'm pleased to confirm that he's very much alive and well, and his writing is every bit as masterly as it ever was. He isn't using the MP title any more, though.

Intriguing! I was aware of the controversy around Connie Chen's certificate, which I think is absurd as she clearly has the skills to be called an MP.

There's a lot of bullshit involved. There are many, many artists in various fields who are master level without having ever entered formal training. I get the feeling, from the little that I have heard about IAMPETH, that they basically engaged in setting up a monopoly. It all sounded suspiciously like a marketing campaign, as did the recent video with Weidmann and Sull.

Well, I wasn't setting out to tantalise, but there's at least one other person here who knows Mr Walker. So it seemed like a good idea to allay any fears for his well being.

The subject of Connie Chen's certificate and IAMPETH politics is not something I'd care to touch, even with asbestos gloves on. I do, however, wish Ms Chen well: any controversy is not of her making.

Just as an aside, four of these individuals are no longer alive--Brown, Costaras, Fairbanks, and Kawalski.
Brian Walker was inducted by IAMPETH to the Master Penman Society in 2011 at the annual convention. Tremendously talented.

As far as that IAMPETH goes they can blow it out their collective ear. They do not have a monopoly on who is or is not a Master Penman. That two IAMPETH Masters signed Connie's certificate is, to me, a clear endorsement of her skills, irrespective of whether it is done under IAMPETH reins or independently.

I do not look to IAMPETH as the sole arbiter of who is or is not a Master Penman. They can play their own games.

I was watching a Coors (lol) video about Jake Weidman that was making its rounds on Facebook a couple days ago and they mentioned that he's the youngest by 30 years and phrased a lot of the video as if he was the last champion of a dying art. It made me somewhat sad. Darn you, IAMPETH.
