@Laura N: the ink is J. Herbin Rouge Hematite. I don't normally use red ink but bought a bottle of Rouge Hematitie just to try with this pen. The ink is a good match for the Aka Tamenuri finish of the pen and just looks right flowing out of this pen. I'll probably switch to black ink when I use the pen at work.

the red seems to have less feathering for me than the other variants in this lineup of inks
