Hello, I am a photographer from Warsaw, Poland. I am not a pen collector, but have several fountain pens which I use and appreciate. My first fountain pen was a gold plated Parker 45 which was given to me together with the corresponding Parker mechanical pencil by the director of the Liceo de Aplicacion (Caracas, Venezuela) as a prize for being the best student of my high school in 1961. I used it from time to time, but since I have traveled a lot and lived in several countries, I forgot about my Parker pen for many years without having cleaned it. When I got back to wanting to use my pen, it was clogged and no one in Poland could repair it claiming that the nib had a fissure. Also the mechanism of my pencil wouldn't move. I sent both my Parker fountain pen and mechanical pencil to Derrick Purser <derrick.purser@btinternet.com> in Scotland. He did a great job replacing the nib by a NOS extra fine and replacing other parts. He also repaired the mechanism of my pencil. The pen is now like new and it's a pleasure to write with it. For me it's like going back to my adolescent years. I will post from time to time my experience with my other fountain pens.
