Our Guiding Principals

The team at FPGeeks has created these ethical principals, to which all employees and freelancers agree to abide.

  • WE DO NOT SELL PENS

We do not sell pens or any other pen related products. In fact, we don’t currently sell any sort of tangible product. We may someday sell some branded coffee cups or something, but we do not and will not sell pens, inks, papers, bow-ties or ball gowns. Geek Glasses? We’ll keep you posted.

  • ADVERTISING

We have advertisers on our site and they are our main source of revenue. We do not accept money or other consideration from companies as a condition of or incentive to write a review or story at FPGeeks. All reviews and other editorial content found at FPGeeks are based on our editorial discretion and not based on the desire of any company, advertiser or PR firm.

  • SOURCES

FPGeeks obtains news and content from a variety of sources. FPGeeks does not pay compensation for tips.

  •  REVIEW UNITS

Companies may loan items, products or samples to our editors for a given period of time in order for our staff to review such samples and determine whether we will provide a review of the product at FPGeeks. We do not accept any samples on any preconditions, such as agreeing to provide a review simply because the company sent us a sample.

Our policy is that a review unit may not be used as the personal property of a staff member except during the pre-determined review period.

Occasionally, we decide to review something which has not been provided to us by a company. In this case, an editor will either purchase the product for him/herself or FPGeeks will purchase the item for the team. And yes, we buy a lot of stuff – which is fun!

  • GIVEAWAYS

From time to time, FPGeeks will conduct contests and giveaways. Giveaways of products are not, and should never be considered, endorsements of the companies involved or their products.

  • EDITORIAL OPINIONS

Our editorial content is written by individuals and each article represents the opinion or view of the individual writer(s). Any opinion expressed in content that appears at FPGeeks is the opinion of the writer – whether an editor, staff member or other contributor – and should not be construed as an opinion formally approved or endorsed by FPGeeks as a whole.

  • YOUR OPINIONS MAY DIFFER

Editorial content at FPGeeks is, by its very nature, filled with both fact and opinion. Opinions being what they are, your opinion may not always be the same as those expressed by our editorial staff. And this is how it should be. The main purpose of FPGeeks is the promotion of information sharing. Disparity of opinion stimulates that sharing. Please make your opinion known, be it identical or contrary to those expressed by our editorial staff, by commenting on posted articles, participating in our forums, and/or sending us an email. We welcome and value your opinions and like nothing more than having our own changed from time to time.

These are guidelines and principles that we follow by choice because we think they make sense for everyone involved. If you have further questions about our ethics or business practices, please contact us here.
