I don't know how many fpgeeks live in Poland or near enough to make it to this wonderful, albeit small and young (third year!), show, but for those who are making travel plans for early- to mid-April, how about Pen Show Poland in Katowice?

Sarj, the One-Man Pen Show, and Jas have already confirmed (third year!), along with friends from Israel, the UK, and Switzerland. I think I'm the only American. SO FAR.

Here's Pen Show Poland's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/PenShowPoland), and here is the website (http://penshowkatowice.jimdo.com/galeria/).

Some members of the local fp forum, Forum O Piórach (http://forumopiorach.net/), and pen show organizers are even publishing a pen show magazine!

The show, April 11 & 12, will be held at Kosmos Kino (Cinema Cosmos) at ul. Sokolska 66, Katowice.

If you're planning to attend the Pen Show and want to visit the lovely city of Wrocław (https://www.google.com/search?q=Wroc%C5%82aw&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS550US550&oq=Wroc%C5%82aw&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i65l2j69i61j0l2.2731j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8), let me know, and I'll call a Pen Posse. Wrocław is about a two-hour drive from Katowice, about five from Warsaw. If you come, I will teach you how to pronounce Wrocław - unless you're Polish, in which case I will torture you slowly with my Polish, which is the linguistic form of Chinese Water Torture. FUN!

Wait, did I see that correctly and sales are in Polish Zloty?
That 7 hour drive is starting to look a lot shorter.

Tak! Here, the złoty is king! And, yes, seven hours is not too far to drive. (Smiley face implied.) Hope you can make it, Jeph!

P.S. And if you come to Wrocław, several of us are getting together for dinner Thursday before the show, and I'd be pleased to invite you.

I drove 7 hours to the SF Pen Show last year, and will do it again. Do it, Jeph!

And all of that looks so nice, Lisa - all of you are putting in such work and care into this show.

Wish they had this show when I lived in Germany. Always had a lot of fun shopping in Poland

I used to drive to LA in four or five hours! Until the 405. So, seven to eight hours. I might be exaggerating, but probably not.

Yes, Jon, the organizers of the show are very committed to spreading the fountain pen gospel. Seems I'll be editing the English-language articles and writing for the magazine, which they plan to publish quarterly. This is what I've been told. I'm giddy! And we have more ideas.

When did you live in Germany, CS?

BTW, Wrocław was named European City of Culture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Capital_of_Culture) for 2016. Whenever I see construction projects, I point out, "Getting ready for 2016!" So, non-Poles, now would be a good time to plan a trip to Pen Show Poland next year, with a visit to Europe's much-hailed City of Culture 2016. Seriously, Wrocław is a beautiful city. On Sunday, friends and I took a bike ride through the city, along the river, through the woods (in the city!), and it was incredible. Not to mention the architecture and history.

The only thing Wrocław could do - for me - is to declare English its official language. Or French. I'm sure I could learn French in a tiny fraction of the time it will take me to hold a brief conversation in Polish. It would be very sporting for this city to do this. For me. Okay, okay, okay, what's easier - Poles learning English (which they are doing already), or me learning Polish? Seriously. Yes, yes, yes, I will continue to learn Polish. Of course. It's like playing three-dimensional Sudoku all day long. If that doesn't stave off age-onset dementia, I don't know what will.

Ya know what? I need to post more pictures of this city! Not right now. It's almost 5 in the morning. Eek! Good night!

Work has decided that I need to fly back to the US the following week so now it does not look like I have any real hope of making this. I thought it was a great excuse to finally make it to Poland. It is a shame that I have been here for over 6 years and have still not made it there. Please take pictures.

Hey if you see Sarj, please let him know I'm still keen on his Waterman :)
