Took awhile to decide to sell and go to a serious collector. A scarce specimen.
This is a near mint first generation resin MontBlanc 149 that is its "untouch" condition.
Meaning no sign of parts being swap or fiddle with in anyway beside it being ink and very light written with.
There are too many tools for MB 149 these days to find a original state pen.
This is a single barrel, friction fit resin piston. Fill more ink than due to larger barrel size than other resin series 149.
Double-slits juicy 1st gen ebonite feed for the 60s resin model.
Full resin threaded cap. A rare early version even with a breather hole like its early 50s celluloid MB 149 sibling.
Piston ring is sharp ( not rounded ) a sign of minimal use. Piston is moving a little tight not because of dry ink clot but due to the lack of use.
I fill it with water to keep its supple.
The scarce thing about this pen is its early 14C tri-tone nib which is a Oblique right grind.
When most oblique grind then and present are mostly left. I strongly believe the grind is original and not from a modification by a nibster.
You can see up-close at the iridium. Making this pen perfect for those writers who slightly rotate their pen towards the right.
Writing is buttery smooth and the line variation is beautiful. Also with a tad of flex.
It look like a Fine Oblique Right cut nib size.
